After submitting their application, the three returned to the tent assigned to Lin Ran and her team. Wei Qingxue was still preoccupied with thoughts of Li Xuan. No wonder Li Xuan had rejected her at the time; how foolish she had been. If only Li Xuan had told her, they could have faced it together.

Now that she had the answers, her heart felt like it had been pierced by a knife. She desperately wanted to personally take down those scum. However, Wei Qingxue felt that Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu were still hiding something from her. Lin Ran seemed reluctant to say more. Since she was going to leave with them, she decided to ask more questions later.

In the basin Lin Ran had just received, there were two bottles of purified water. She handed one to Wei Qingxue, but Wei Qingxue shook her head. "I'm not thirsty. This is a scarce resource here. You two should keep it for yourselves. I have a cup in my room. I can get water with it later."

"Alright," Lin Ran didn't insist. She opened one bottle and handed it to Mo Shuyu. "Have some water."

"Okay," Mo Shuyu took a few sips and then handed the bottle back to Lin Ran.

Lin Ran naturally finished the rest of the half-bottle of water. There was still an unopened bottle, which Lin Ran planned to save for the evening. With so many people around, she didn't want to reveal her secret of having a special space.

Wei Qingxue watched the interaction between Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu with a look of envy. If Li Xuan were still around, she and Li Xuan would probably be like Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu.

With her eyes slightly red, Wei Qingxue quickly said, "I'll head back now. I'll come find you two in the morning."

"Alright, go back and rest. Don't overthink it," Lin Ran patted Wei Qingxue's shoulder, and Wei Qingxue left.

After a busy afternoon, Lin Ran and Mo Shuyu finally got to relax a bit. Mo Shuyu leaned against Lin Ran's arm and sent messages to Cheng Yanhong on her phone.

Seeing that Mo Shuyu was uncomfortable, Lin Ran extended her left arm and pulled Mo Shuyu into her embrace. Mo Shuyu, with her ears turning red, glanced at Lin Ran, feeling a ticklish sensation in her heart.

She naturally leaned into Lin Ran's arms, finding comfort there.

Lin Ran, noticing how naturally Mo Shuyu leaned in, smiled gently, watching Mo Shuyu send messages to her family.

"Mom, Lin Ran and I are safe. We should be able to return tomorrow morning. How are you and Ruanruan?" Mo Shuyu sent the message and soon received a reply from her mother.

"Everything is fine at home. You two stay safe."

Below the message, Cheng Yanhong sent several photos of Ruan Ruan. There were pictures of Ruan Ruan playing with a cat, eating obediently, and sleeping soundly.

Mo Shuyu smiled as she looked at the photos. "Look at Ruan Ruan," she said, raising the phone to show Lin Ran.

"Yes, she's adorable. We'll see her tomorrow. That's great," Lin Ran said, feeling a bit homesick.

She looked at Mo Shuyu and asked softly, "Are you tired? Do you want to rest on my lap?"

Mo Shuyu nodded, feeling a bit sleepy. "Alright."

Mo Shuyu skillfully rested her head on Lin Ran's lap, and Lin Ran covered her with a summer quilt. "Sleep well. I'll wake you up for dinner."

"Okay," Mo Shuyu replied, closing her eyes. With Lin Ran around, she felt safe and could rest peacefully.

Lin Ran watched her fall asleep, her eyes softening. She didn't dare to play with her phone, fearing the battery might run out, so she just watched Mo Shuyu.
