After she and Mo Shuyu finished examining the cards, it was around 5:30 PM. Lin Ran glanced around, noticing that the zombies hadn't dispersed yet. In a little over an hour, the card-drawing machine would disappear, and the zombies would lose control.

Lin Ran furrowed her brow. Mo Shuyu noticed and asked quietly, "What's wrong?"

"I'm thinking about how we should get out of here," Lin Ran replied, standing up and looking out the floor-to-ceiling window. They were on the 17th floor. While the previous escape method was feasible, having outsiders present made her uneasy. If the rope was tampered with during their descent, both she and Mo Shuyu would be doomed. This made people the most unpredictable factor in the world.

Mo Shuyu stood up with Lin Ran, whispering, "You don't plan to use the same method as last time, do you? Your hand injury just healed, and this is the 17th floor."

Lin Ran sighed and leaned closer to Mo Shuyu's ear, "We might not be able to use the same method. There are others here, and I don't trust them."

Mo Shuyu quickly grasped Lin Ran's concern, "Then what should we do?"

"We'll clear the outermost zombies and then break out," Lin Ran said, squatting down to pick up her Tang sword. Just as she was about to get up, a system voice sounded in her mind.

"Don't forget, every time you use the Tang sword to kill 100 zombies, you can add attribute points to the sword. You've already killed over 500 zombies and accumulated 5 attribute points. You can now add points to the Tang sword," the system's mechanical voice echoed in Lin Ran's mind.

Lin Ran's eyes lit up, and she addressed the system in her mind, "33, for the first time, I think you're actually quite useful."

"Hmph, thank you," the system replied, seemingly unimpressed by the compliment.

Lin Ran didn't dwell on it. Adding attribute points was the priority. With a thought, the Tang sword's attribute panel appeared in her mind: "Strength +1, Speed +0, Critical +0."

Lin Ran allocated four of the five points to strength, considering she planned to give the gene enhancement potion to Mo Shuyu, leaving her own attributes unchanged. The remaining point went to speed, making the Tang sword smoother to wield.

After checking the updated Tang sword attributes, which now read "Strength +5, Speed +1, Critical +0," Lin Ran walked towards the outer ring of zombies.

Jiang Jun asked softly, "What is that woman up to now? The zombies can't get in, and yet she still wants to go out and die?"

Yang Jing was also puzzled about what Lin Ran was doing.

But the next moment, Lin Ran had already started to move. Holding the Tang sword in her right hand, she began to kill the zombies from one side. Lin Ran had originally thought that even with the attribute points added, it would still be a bit strenuous to cut off the zombies' heads. She didn't expect that she could now smoothly decapitate zombies with a single hand, and her speed had increased significantly.

The zombies' heads fell like watermelons, one after another, as Lin Ran efficiently chopped them off.

Lin Ran continued this way, cutting off the heads of all the zombies in the first three rows. The ground was littered with zombie heads, and Yang Jing's companions started gagging at the sight.

Xie Dong, hiding behind Yang Jing, trembled with fear. "What on earth is that woman doing? She's crazy! These zombies haven't even provoked her, and she's decapitated so many. Isn't she afraid of nightmares?"

Wang Lisheng whispered, "It's none of your business what she does. We're lucky we didn't follow Gao Xiang earlier, or we wouldn't be keeping our heads now."
