So I'm stupid 😅😂
I realized last night that I didn't finished the chapter supposed to be posted today. But since I'm lazy and I finished the one for Saturday I just switched the chapter update order, so sorry 😂😂
So @sunghoonfan123 here's your requests a bit early. Hope you like it.
And to all of you who asked for a part 2 of "Changbin skz - Argument" you will have too wait 2 more days.
1200 words.
The tension in the dorm was suffocating. What had started as a minor disagreement had spiraled into an all-out argument, voices raised, accusations thrown carelessly into the air. It wasn't just one thing—months of exhaustion, misunderstandings, and the weight of being constantly in the spotlight had built up like a dam ready to burst. And tonight, it finally did.
Sunghoon stood in the center of it all, fists clenched, jaw tight. "Why do you always act like this, Jake? You never listen to anyone but yourself!"
Jake, just as frustrated, fired back. "Maybe because I'm tired of you pretending like you're better than everyone else!"
"Enough!" Jungwon's voice cut through the tension, but the damage was done.
Sunghoon's chest rose and fell rapidly as his anger simmered just below the surface. The members' faces were twisted in frustration, their words stinging more than they should have. He needed to get out of there.
Turning on his heel, Sunghoon stormed out of the living room and toward the stairs. His vision was blurred by the heat of the moment, thoughts tangled in resentment and regret. But in his haste, he misstepped.
A single moment of weightlessness.
Then pain.
A sharp, searing sensation shot through his body as he tumbled down the stairs, the world spinning around him. He barely registered the shouts of his members before everything went black.
When Sunghoon opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was a white ceiling, the harsh fluorescent lights making him squint. The smell of antiseptic filled his nose, and the distant beeping of a heart monitor echoed in the room.
A hospital?
He furrowed his brows and shifted slightly, a dull ache radiating from the back of his head. Confusion settled deep in his chest.
"Sunghoon?"
His head snapped toward the voice. A group of young men stood near his bedside, their faces a mixture of relief, worry, and something else he couldn't quite place. But what startled him the most was that he didn't recognize them.
The one who had spoken was a boy with soft, cat-like eyes—he looked like he had been crying. Beside him, another boy with wavy brown hair had his arms crossed, his expression guarded. The others stood close by, watching him expectantly, anxiously.
"Who..." Sunghoon's voice was hoarse. "Who are you?"
The silence that followed was suffocating.
Jungwon visibly stiffened, his lips parting slightly as if to say something, but no words came out.
Sunoo's breath hitched, his eyes wide in disbelief. "What... what do you mean?"
"You guys... do I know you?" Sunghoon asked hesitantly, eyes darting between them.
Jay exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair. "You're joking, right?"
Sunghoon shook his head slowly. "No. I'm ... I'm not. I don't know who you are."
The weight of his words sank in, crashing over them like a tidal wave.
"No way," Ni-ki whispered, his voice barely audible.
A doctor entered the room, breaking the suffocating silence. "It seems that Park Sunghoon has suffered from temporary retrograde amnesia due to his fall. His memory loss seems to extend to his time with you all."
(A/N : this moment is like so brutal 😅😂, I forgot to gave the doctor empathy or something)
Sunghoon frowned. "Wait... what do you mean 'my time with them'?"
The doctor gave him a kind but cautious look. "You are part of a group called ENHYPEN. These young men are your fellow members."
Sunghoon blinked, feeling like the air had been knocked out of him. "That's... not right."
"What do you mean?" Heeseung finally spoke, his voice strangely quiet.
Sunghoon looked at them, eyes filled with uncertainty. "I'm a figure skater. I don't sing. I don't dance. That's my life."
(A/N : anybody got the high school musical song in their head because of 'I don't dance'?)
The hospital room had never felt so cold.
Sunghoon's words left an invisible wound on everyone in the room.
He remembered himself as a figure skater, back before he even knew them. Before he had ever joined I-LAND. Before ENHYPEN had ever been formed.
And he didn't remember them at all.
Jake let out a humorless laugh, rubbing his face in frustration. "So that's it, then? You don't remember us, but you remember skating?"
Sunghoon looked at him, something in his expression wavering. "I... I'm sorry."
The words stung.
"Don't apologize," Jungwon muttered, his hands gripping the hem of his hoodie tightly. "It's not your fault."
"But it still hurts," Sunoo whispered.
The members had been through so much together—their struggles, their victories, their laughter, their tears. And now, Sunghoon didn't remember any of it.
Did he remember the nights they spent practicing until they couldn't stand? Did he remember how they all clung to each other when times got tough? Did he remember the way they had grown into a family?
No.
All he knew was a life before them. A life where they didn't exist.
The days passed, but the weight in the dorm never lifted.
Sunghoon was quiet, often lost in thought, watching the others carefully but never quite engaging. It felt like he was a stranger in his own home.
He still had the instincts of a performer—his body moved effortlessly to the choreography, even if his mind didn't recall learning it. His voice knew the lyrics, but his heart didn't connect with the words.
The members tried their best to be patient. They laughed at his old habits, helped him navigate their routines, tried to make him feel like he belonged. But there was always that unspoken pain between them.
And Sunghoon saw it.
One night, he found himself standing in front of the trophy shelf, eyes scanning the awards they had won together. His fingers traced the engraved words: ENHYPEN - Rookie of the Year.
This was his life. Even if he couldn't remember it, it was his.
He turned when he heard someone enter the room.
It was Jungwon.
The leader stood there, hesitant. "Can't sleep?"
Sunghoon shook his head. "I was just... thinking."
Jungwon hesitated before stepping closer. "Do you... do you regret it?"
"Regret what?"
"Choosing this life. Leaving skating behind."
Sunghoon's fingers curled against the edge of the shelf. "I don't know."
Jungwon sighed. "I just... I don't know how to make you remember us, Sunghoon. I don't know how to make this easier."
Sunghoon swallowed, guilt pressing against his ribs. "I don't know how to fix this either."
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
Then Jungwon smiled—small, sad. "Then we'll figure it out together."
"Together..." whispered Sunghoon.
