@t4kess here's your request. Hope you like it. You can thank my sister she helped me a lot on this one. I think this chapter is the longest I made.
1700 words.

There was something about food that always felt... complicated for Sunghoon.

Maybe it was the constant comments online about his looks. Maybe it was the pressure of standing under stage lights, always in front of cameras, expected to be perfect. Or maybe it was just something inside him that convinced him thinner meant better. Control over food felt like control over himself.

The others didn't know at first.

Sunghoon had perfected the art of pretending: eating just enough to avoid suspicion, laughing just loud enough to mask the emptiness in his stomach. But even the best actors slip up eventually.

It was Heeseung who first noticed—how Sunghoon would disappear after meals, how his hands trembled during vocal warm-ups, how his energy seemed to flicker on and off like a faulty lightbulb. Jungwon noticed too, when Sunghoon barely touched his food during group dinners. And then there was that one day when Jake heard retching sounds through the bathroom door and stood frozen, heart pounding.

They started watching him. Quietly, at first. Sitting next to him at meals. Nudging bowls closer. Keeping casual conversations going after dinner, so Sunghoon wouldn't have a chance to sneak away.

Sunghoon didn't say anything, but he noticed. And he hated it.

He hated being watched. He hated needing help. He hated that his own mind was the enemy, whispering that eating made him weak, while his friends were telling him the opposite.

Still, he ate. Sometimes. Because they asked. Because they cared. Because he didn't want to see that worry in their eyes.

But then, everything shifted.

The photo wasn't even clear.

Just a grainy image of Sunghoon stepping out of a building with no label. But online, fans did what they always did—dug deeper, speculated louder. Within hours, someone claimed it was another agency's building. Someone else said they saw him meeting a different manager.

"Is Sunghoon leaving ENHYPEN?"
"New solo deal?"
"Trouble in the group?"

The words stung, even if no one wanted to admit it.

In the dorm that night, silence suffocated the air like smoke.

No one brought it up—not directly. But the energy had shifted.

Jungwon sat with his head bowed, scrolling through endless comments on his phone, his thumb frozen over the screen. Jake paced the living room, pretending to look for his charger. Heeseung sat on the couch, eyes distant, chewing at his thumbnail like it might anchor him. Even Ni-ki, usually so blunt and loud, hovered by the kitchen, stealing glances at Sunghoon.

And Sunghoon... he felt every look.

He felt the tension in the room like a weight on his chest. Every conversation felt clipped, as if words were being carefully chosen, as if one wrong sentence would break everything. He wanted to scream the truth—It's not what you think. I'm not leaving. I would never leave you.
But when he opened his mouth, nothing came out. Only the old, familiar silence.

And so the distance grew.

The subtle care the others once showed—the little reminders to eat, the quiet presence after meals, the unspoken concern—faded. Not out of cruelty, but uncertainty. The rumor had cracked something in them. It wasn't just about betrayal—it was about fear.
