Dec pushed open the door to Ant's flat, a familiar sense of comfort washing over him. It was quiet, save for the soft sound of a movie playing in the background. He stepped inside and let the door swing closed behind him, not bothering to knock. They had reached that level of friendship where privacy was more of a suggestion than a rule.

He found Ant sprawled out on the sofa, his hair tousled, an old movie flickering on the screen. The sight of him-relaxed, yet somehow weary-pulled at something deep inside Dec. Without a word, he crossed the room and let himself collapse on top of his best friend, burying his face into Ant's chest.

The initial surprise quickly melted into warmth as Ant wrapped his arms around Dec, pulling him closer. "Hey, mate," he murmured, his voice soft and soothing, as if he understood without needing to ask. "I'm here."

Dec let out a shaky breath, feeling the tension leave his body as he settled into the embrace. He didn't want to talk. He just needed this moment, this grounding presence that was Ant. There were no probing questions, no insistence on sharing feelings-just a mutual understanding that sometimes, silence spoke louder than words.

For the next half hour, they remained like that, wrapped up in each other's comfort. Ant's fingers traced soothing patterns on Dec's back, whispering gentle words of affection into his hair. "You're safe, you know. I've got you," he promised softly, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through Dec.

Eventually, Dec shifted slightly, enough to roll onto his side and lean against Ant's warmth without losing the connection. He focused on the movie, letting the flickering light wash over them both, while the silence between them felt less like a void and more like a shared space filled with unspoken support.

"Want to order Chinese?" Ant asked after a while, breaking the comfortable quiet.

Dec nodded, a small smile tugging at his lips. The thought of sharing a meal, of being close to Ant, made his heart swell with gratitude. Ant grabbed his phone and placed the order, casually glancing over at Dec, who remained nestled into his side.

When the food arrived, they sat together on the sofa, a feast of boxes and chopsticks spread out in front of them. Dec leaned heavily against Ant, his shoulder pressed against Ant's, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath him.

After a few moments of content silence, Dec finally spoke up. "I just... I needed this. The affection. I've been feeling a bit lost," he admitted, vulnerability creeping into his voice.

Ant turned to him, eyes warm and understanding. "You know I'm always here for that," he replied, his tone sincere and reassuring. "Whenever you need it, I'm right here."

Dec's heart swelled at the promise in Ant's words. He felt seen, valued, and most importantly, loved. They continued to eat, sharing casual banter and stolen bites, but underneath it all was the profound comfort of knowing that no matter how rough things got, they would always have each other.
