After another exhilarating season of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! wrapped up, Ant and Dec found themselves with some extra time in Australia. The beautiful, sun-soaked beaches, the laid-back atmosphere, and the chance to relax after weeks of intense work were too tempting to resist. They quickly agreed to extend their stay, figuring they could use a mini-holiday to unwind.
They hadn't expected to hear from Stephen so soon after finishing the show. But late one evening, as they lounged on the deck of their beach side villa, Dec's phone buzzed. It was a message from Stephen:
"Hey, I know this might sound a bit random, but is there any chance I could come to you? I just... need a break. I miss you both, and I'm not feeling great."
Ant and Dec exchanged a look. They knew Stephen had been pushing himself hard, juggling multiple commitments. Without a second thought, they texted back:
"Of course, Stevie. Get here as soon as you can."
Two days later, Stephen arrived, looking drained but managing a small smile when he saw Ant and Dec waiting for him at the airport. They enveloped him in a big group hug, not letting go for a long moment, letting him know he was right where he belonged.
Back at the villa, they wasted no time in setting up a cosy spot for Stephen on the large, plush sofa. Ant brought over a blanket, draping it around Stephen's shoulders as Dec gently rubbed his back. Stephen leaned into them, sighing as he let himself relax for the first time in what felt like ages.
"You've been working yourself too hard," Dec murmured, brushing a hand through Stephen's hair. "No more running around or stressing about things here. We've got you."
"Yeah, mate," Ant added, squeezing Stephen's hand. "This is your time to recharge, and we're here to make sure you do."
The next few days were all about rest and simple comforts. Mornings were spent sipping coffee on the deck, watching the waves roll in, with Stephen often curled up between his friends, soaking in their warmth. They took gentle beach strolls, the soft sand and sea breeze doing wonders to soothe Stephen's mind. And when Stephen felt exhausted, Ant and Dec were right there, cuddling him close, making him feel loved and safe.
One evening, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, they set up a blanket on the beach and watched the sky turn shades of pink and orange. Stephen rested his head on Dec's shoulder, his eyes drifting shut as he felt the day's worries melt away.
"I really needed this," he whispered, a slight tremor in his voice. "I didn't realise how tired I was until I got here."
"We'll always be here for you," Dec replied softly, wrapping an arm around him. "You don't ever have to go through things alone."
Ant leaned over, brushing a comforting kiss on Stephen's forehead. "You're family, Stevie. We'll make sure you're taken care of."
They stayed that way until the stars began to appear, sharing stories, quiet moments, and so many reassurances that Stephen knew deep down he'd carry their love and support long after this holiday was over. In their arms, he finally felt at peace.
