Ant and Dec were lounging on the sofa in Ant's flat, engaged in a playful argument that had been going on for at least twenty minutes. Ant leaned back with his arms crossed, his grin wide. "I'm telling you, Dec, I love you more. I always make you tea without even being asked!"
Dec rolled his eyes, sitting up straighter. "Oh, please! I'm the one who always brings you snacks when we're working late. Snacks, Ant. The key to your heart!"
Ant chuckled. "Snacks don't beat tea, mate. Everyone knows tea equals love."
The banter continued, with exaggerated declarations and increasingly ridiculous examples of their affection for one another. Dec even brought up the time he let Ant borrow his favourite hoodie, an argument Ant countered with a dramatic retelling of the time he gave Dec the last biscuit in the packet.
The door creaked open, and Stephen walked in, carrying a shopping bag. He paused, taking in the sight of his two best friends bickering like schoolboys.
"What's all this, then?" Stephen asked, raising an eyebrow as he set the bag down.
Ant and Dec turned to him in unison, their eyes lighting up. Before Stephen could process it, they both jumped up and tackled him onto the sofa.
"You decide!" Ant demanded, holding one of Stephen's arms.
"Yeah!" Dec agreed, taking the other arm. "Who loves who more? Me or Ant?"
Stephen, now thoroughly squished between the two of them, blinked and then smirked. "You're both being ridiculously affectionate to me right now, so maybe I'm the answer."
For a moment, there was silence. Then, Ant and Dec burst out laughing.
"You've got a point there," Ant admitted, ruffling Stephen's hair.
"Fair enough," Dec added, leaning in to plant a quick kiss on Stephen's cheek. "Guess it's you, mate."
What followed was a flurry of cuddles and kisses from both sides. Ant wrapped an arm around Stephen's shoulders and pressed a kiss to his temple. Dec, not to be outdone, peppered Stephen's other cheek with kisses.
"Alright, alright!" Stephen laughed, squirming in their grip. "I get it, I'm loved!"
"Very loved," Ant said, his tone teasing but warm.
"The most loved," Dec added, giving Stephen a light squeeze.
Stephen let out a happy sigh, sinking into the affectionate embrace of his best friends. "You two are ridiculous, you know that?"
"Ridiculously loving," Ant corrected.
"And ridiculously lucky to have you," Dec finished, sharing a grin with Ant.
The three of them stayed like that for a while, sharing warmth, laughter, and the kind of bond that no argument-playful or otherwise-could ever break.
