Hugging Through Friendship

The day started early, with Ant and Dec arriving at the studio before sunrise, still blinking the sleep from their eyes and clutching their coffee mugs like lifelines. As they got ready for the day's filming, they found themselves falling into a comfortable silence, the kind of quiet that only years of friendship could make feel so right.

Just before stepping into the makeup chair, Dec reached out, pulling Ant into a quick, warm hug. "You doing okay?" he murmured, just loud enough for Ant to hear.

Ant smiled, wrapping his arms around Dec in return. "Yeah, I'm good. Thanks, mate." They stood like that for a few moments longer, letting the quietness of their hug do the talking.

Throughout the day, whenever they crossed paths in the hallways or had a break between scenes, one of them would find an excuse for another hug. Sometimes it was Dec giving Ant a quick squeeze around the shoulders as they walked back to the dressing room. Other times, it was Ant pulling Dec in for a tight, reassuring embrace after a particularly intense take. Each hug was a silent promise: I'm here. I've got your back.

At lunchtime, they sat side-by-side on the couch in their dressing room, laughing over memories of past shoots and the ridiculous moments that seemed to follow them everywhere. Suddenly, Dec nudged Ant with his shoulder, grinning. "Come here, ya big softy." And with that, he wrapped an arm around Ant, pulling him close.

Ant chuckled, relaxing into the hug and letting his head rest against Dec's shoulder for a moment. "Don't know what I'd do without you, mate," he said softly.

"Same here," Dec replied, patting his friend's back affectionately. "Wouldn't be the same without you."

As the day wore on, each hug seemed to grow longer, as if they were both soaking up the reassurance, the strength, and the warmth of each other's presence. By the time they wrapped up for the night, they were both a little more tired but a lot more content, knowing they'd looked after each other just as much as they'd looked after the show.

Before they headed out, Dec pulled Ant into one last hug in the dimly lit parking lot, the cool night air wrapping around them. "See you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Wouldn't miss it," Ant replied, grinning. They lingered just a moment longer, arms wrapped around each other, knowing that these simple moments were what kept their friendship so strong.

As they drove off in separate directions, they each had the same thought: however many years they had left of this journey, they'd be walking it side by side, always making sure the other was okay.
