Ant and Dec had a plan that evening: a surprise visit to Stephen's flat. They'd tossed around the idea of calling first but ultimately decided that showing up unannounced would be far more fun. Just the thought of seeing his surprised smile and spending a cosy evening together, maybe catching up on a few inside jokes and work stories, made them both grin like schoolboys up to mischief.

When they arrived at Stephen's door, a faint, passionate melody seeped through the wood-a voice they knew all too well, carrying each note with fierce emotion. Ant cocked his head, recognising the tune instantly. "Is he... singing First Burn from Hamilton?" he whispered to Dec with a glint in his eye. Dec stifled a laugh, nodding as they leaned in closer, catching the intensity of Stephen's solo performance.

They gave a gentle knock, but Stephen, caught up in his own concert, didn't respond. With a conspiratorial look, Ant and Dec decided to let themselves in. The door creaked open, and they slipped inside, holding back giggles.

The scene that greeted them was something straight out of a musical comedy: Stephen was lying sprawled out on the floor, a thick book open in front of him, completely absorbed in his performance. As he sang, his legs kicked in the air, an endearing, childlike enthusiasm lighting up his every word. His voice filled the room, perfectly in sync with the track, and his body moved with the beat, an unmistakable passion flowing through him. He was so lost in the music that he didn't even notice his unexpected audience.

Ant and Dec exchanged an amused glance and quietly crept over to the sofa, settling down without making a sound. They watched, fully captivated by Stephen's oblivious concert, their faces alight with mischievous delight as they stifled their laughter.

"Don't, take another step in my direction..." Stephen sang out, his voice resonating with unrestrained passion. He turned a page in his book with a casual grace, his body swaying as if he were on stage in front of thousands, rather than alone in his living room.

Ant and Dec let the silence hang between them, each knowing exactly what the other was thinking. When the final note of the song faded into silence, they leaped to their feet, breaking out into loud, exaggerated applause.

"Bravo! Encore!" Dec called, throwing his hands in the air. Ant joined in, clapping with dramatic enthusiasm. Stephen froze, mid-gesture, his eyes widening as his mind processed what was happening.

"Oh my God!" he gasped, his face flooding with colour. "You two nearly gave me a heart attack!" His hand clutched his chest as he let out a breathless laugh, still reeling from the shock.

Trying to hide his embarrassment, Stephen quickly reached for the table beside him. "Alexa, stop!" he commanded, and with a little beep, the room fell into quiet. But his face was still flushed as he looked back at the two grinning men on his sofa.

"Oh, I'm never going to live this down, am I?" he said, feigning annoyance as he scrambled to his feet. But the moment he reached them, he didn't bother with explanations. Instead, he slipped right between them on the sofa, settling in with a contented sigh. It was as if they belonged there, and in his heart, he knew they did.

"So," he murmured, letting his head rest on Ant's shoulder, his body relaxing into the familiar warmth of his friends. "What exactly are you two doing here, anyway?"

"We thought we'd drop by and surprise you," Ant replied, sliding an arm around Stephen's shoulders and pulling him a bit closer. "But it looks like we got our own little surprise instead-an entire musical number!"

"Yeah, I didn't know we were getting a private concert tonight," Dec added, smirking as he nudged Stephen with his elbow. "Honestly, mate, you sounded amazing. Ever think about adding 'performer' to your list of talents?"

Stephen rolled his eyes, chuckling as he sank further into Ant's embrace. "Believe me, that wasn't meant to be a performance. It's what happens when I'm left alone with a book and a Hamilton soundtrack. Completely harmless... until you two showed up," he teased, feeling his cheeks still warm from the unexpected reveal.

"Harmless?!" Dec scoffed, feigning offence. "I'm pretty sure we just witnessed the world premiere of the next West End sensation."

Stephen snorted, shaking his head. "Alright, alright. Enough of that," he laughed, but a glint in his eyes hinted that he was secretly pleased. He took a deep breath, letting the playful banter melt into a comfortable silence as the three of them settled in together.

They spent the next few hours chatting, laughing, and sharing stories about work and life, letting each conversation flow into the next with ease. Every now and then, one of them would throw in a playful jab about Stephen's impromptu performance, which only made the atmosphere feel warmer, more intimate.

As the evening wore on, Stephen shifted, resting his head on Ant's shoulder again, feeling safe and cherished. He didn't need to ask why they'd come over anymore. Their presence, the soft laughter, the quiet moments of understanding-it all felt perfect. His eyes began to close as he relaxed deeper, a peaceful smile tugging at his lips.

Dec glanced down, noticing Stephen's softening gaze. "Looks like someone's ready for a good night's sleep," he murmured, reaching over to give Stephen's hand a gentle squeeze.

Ant chuckled, ruffling Stephen's hair. "Yeah, but not before we remind him of the encore we're expecting next time."

Stephen's tired laugh was muffled against Ant's shoulder. "You're impossible, both of you," he mumbled, but his heart was full, warmed by the presence of the two people who meant the world to him.

And as they sat there, the three of them basking in the quiet warmth of each other's company, Stephen knew that he was exactly where he belonged.
