It had started innocently enough. Ant, struck by an odd burst of inspiration one morning, decided he was going to make it his mission to come up with the most bizarre, hilarious, and heartfelt nicknames for Dec that he could possibly imagine. Stephen was around to witness the whole thing, which only made it more entertaining.

The first one came out as soon as Dec entered the room.

"Morning, my little marshmallow fluff!" Ant greeted, his voice practically dripping with affection as he threw his arms wide open for a hug.

Dec halted mid-step, blinking in confusion. "What did you just call me?"

Ant just grinned, acting like nothing was unusual. "Marshmallow fluff, obviously. Because you're soft, sweet, and... a bit sticky when you've had too much jam toast, probably."

Stephen, sitting nearby, snorted into his coffee, trying to hold back a laugh. "I think he's got a point, Dec," he teased, giving Dec's shoulder a playful nudge. "I'd call you Sticky Toffee Muffin myself, though."

The next day, Ant was back at it, throwing names out at every opportunity. Dec got up from the couch to grab a glass of water, only to be stopped by Ant calling out, "Where are you going, my little cinnamon crumpet?"

Dec shook his head, chuckling. "Cinnamon crumpet? Ant, you've lost it."

"Am I wrong? You are the crumpet of my heart," Ant replied with a wink, pulling Dec in for a tight hug and planting a loud, playful kiss on his cheek. Dec, although rolling his eyes, couldn't hide the faint blush creeping up his cheeks.

By now, Stephen had caught on to Ant's nickname spree and was loving every second of it. He couldn't resist chiming in. "You might be a cinnamon crumpet, Dec, but you're also my little giggle cookie," he said, smirking as Dec gave him a mock glare.

As if determined to outdo himself, Ant's names grew more elaborate and more ridiculous by the hour. "Hello, my dandelion sprout," he greeted Dec one morning, only for Stephen to burst out laughing. Another time, while they were out filming, he called him "My sweet little puddle jumper," earning a playful shove from Dec.

Every now and then, though, Ant would throw in a name that was surprisingly tender. "How's my sunshine star today?" he asked softly, hugging Dec from behind as they waited for a scene to be set up.

Dec laughed, leaning into the hug. "Sunshine star, am I?"

"Always are," Ant replied, his voice gentle, giving Dec's cheek a light kiss. He pulled Stephen into the embrace, planting a kiss on Stephen's forehead too. "I've got my two shining stars right here."

Stephen, blushing, tried to act unbothered but couldn't help the grin spreading across his face. Ant's endless list of nicknames seemed to keep them all in high spirits.

One afternoon, after Ant had referred to Dec as "my little lemon drop delight," Stephen couldn't resist getting in on the fun.

"Lemon drop delight, eh?" he teased, poking Dec in the ribs. "I think Ant might have a little crush."

"Oh, you think?" Ant shot back, wrapping an arm around Dec's shoulders. "Why else would I be showering him with so much affection?" He then kissed Dec's forehead, followed by a quick kiss on Stephen's cheek. "I'm just spreading the love."

Stephen laughed, but he didn't let it go, finding new ways to tease Dec every time Ant came up with a new name.

Then came the moments where Ant would switch the tone completely, catching Dec off-guard with a nickname that wasn't silly but soft and warm. "How's my favourite person in the whole world doing today?" Ant asked one evening, pulling Dec close as they relaxed on the couch.

Dec just smiled, feeling a happy warmth settle over him. "Pretty good, thanks to you."

"Oh, you're so sweet, aren't you, Dec?" Stephen chimed in, only for Ant to lean over and ruffle Stephen's hair too.

"Got enough affection for both of you, my cuddle pumpkins," Ant said, laughing as he planted another kiss on Dec's cheek, then one on Stephen's for good measure.

Days went by with Ant showering Dec in a whirlwind of names: "jellybean dream," "pumpkin pie prince," "my fluffy marshmallow," and "my precious snowflake." Each name was accompanied by a tight hug, a kiss on the cheek, or a light squeeze of Dec's hand. Every time, Dec's laughter grew, while Stephen shook his head with an amused grin.

Finally, one evening, Dec turned to Ant, his eyes warm. "You're having far too much fun with this, you know."

Ant shrugged, pulling Dec close yet again. "Maybe. But you deserve every silly nickname in the world. And I mean it-every single one of them. My sweet, brilliant, absolutely wonderful best friend." He gave Dec a long, warm hug, then reached for Stephen and pulled him in too.

Dec's face softened, and he gave Ant a little nudge. "Alright then... what's next, Ant? Hit me with your best shot."

Ant grinned mischievously. "Oh, don't worry, I've saved my finest masterpiece for last." He leaned in close, eyes sparkling. "How about... my one and only absolute legend of a best friend?"

Dec chuckled, shaking his head. "I'll take that one." And with that, they fell into another hug, Stephen joining in as they all laughed, feeling as close as ever.

As they settled into a quiet moment, Ant whispered, "Here with my dandelion sprout and my lemon drop delight, I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

And they stayed like that, wrapped up together, feeling all the warmth and love of the world gathered right in their embrace.
