The room was quiet, bathed in the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the curtains. Stephen lay on his back, one arm curled protectively around Dec, who was nestled into his chest. It was a rare occurrence for Dec to claim Stephen as his personal pillow; usually, Ant was the one sprawled comfortably between them, soaking up every ounce of affection like a warm, happy sponge.
But tonight was different. Ant had excused himself to brush his teeth, leaving Dec and Stephen in a cosy embrace. Dec's soft breaths tickled Stephen's neck as he traced lazy circles on Dec's back.
"This is nice," Dec murmured sleepily, his voice muffled against Stephen's chest.
"Yeah, it is," Stephen agreed, pressing a gentle kiss to Dec's hair.
The peaceful moment was interrupted by the sound of the bathroom door creaking open. Ant emerged, wiping his hands on a towel. He paused in the doorway, surveying the scene with exaggerated indignation.
"Right, that's it!" Ant declared, dramatically grabbing a throw blanket from the foot of the bed and his pillow. "Since nobody loves me anymore, I'll just sleep downstairs on the couch! Alone! In the cold!"
Dec peeked up from Stephen's chest, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Oh no, Ant, don't do that. It's freezing down there."
"Yeah," Stephen added with a grin, "you might catch a cold."
Ant huffed dramatically and turned toward the door, his pillow tucked under his arm. "Well, maybe then you'd miss me!" he called over his shoulder, his voice dripping with mock sadness.
That was the final straw. All three of them burst out laughing, the kind of laughter that filled the room with warmth. Ant spun on his heel, throwing the pillow onto the bed before diving onto the mattress.
"You two are terrible!" he exclaimed, his laughter betraying his feigned annoyance.
Before Ant could say another word, Dec and Stephen pounced. They showered his face and neck with kisses, their lips brushing against his skin in a ticklish, affectionate assault. Ant squirmed, his giggles echoing through the room.
"Stop-! It tickles!" he managed to get out between peals of laughter.
"Never," Dec teased, pressing another kiss to his jaw.
"We love you, Ant," Stephen said softly, his tone warm and sincere, even as he planted another kiss on Ant's cheek.
"We love you so much," Dec added, his voice just as tender.
Ant's laughter slowed, his giggles replaced by a beaming smile. He snuggled into the embrace, his heart full as he curled up between his boyfriends.
"I love you both too," he murmured, his voice thick with emotion.
The three of them settled into their usual positions, Ant tucked snugly between Dec and Stephen. As the laughter faded and the room grew quiet once more, the warmth of their love lingered, wrapping them in a cocoon of comfort and joy.
