The flat was a haven of serenity, the soft hum of the dishwasher harmonising with the rhythmic patter of rain against the windows. The muted glow of a floor lamp bathed the room in golden light, its warmth contrasting with the cool, rainy atmosphere outside. Stephen sat curled up on the sofa, a forgotten phone resting beside him, its screen dimmed to black. A restless sigh escaped his lips as he shifted against the cushions, his gaze unfocused. Something was missing-something intangible yet familiar, comforting.
A gentle warmth stirred in his chest as his thoughts turned to his boyfriends. The mere memory of their smiles tugged his lips into a soft grin. He knew what he needed-a little love to soothe the restlessness within him.
Rising to his feet, Stephen padded quietly down the hall, his bare toes brushing over the cool hardwood floor. The lingering scent of coffee mingled with the petrichor drifting in from the rain, grounding him in the cosy stillness of the flat. His first destination was the office, where Ant had been absorbed in work for the better part of the afternoon.
Peeking around the door frame, Stephen's heart softened at the sight before him. Ant sat hunched over his laptop, headphones slightly askew and brow furrowed in concentration. One hand tapped a staccato rhythm on the desk, while the other guided the track pad with an air of quiet determination. The soft glow of the desk lamp illuminated his face, sharpening the angles of focus while lending an unexpected tenderness to the scene.
"Hey, babe," Stephen called softly, his voice cutting through the stillness and drawing Ant's gaze.
Ant looked up, his eyes lighting up as the tension melted from his features. A smile spread across his face, warm and welcoming. "Hey, sweetheart. Everything okay?"
Stephen stepped into the room, leaning lightly against the edge of the desk. "Yeah, everything's fine," he replied, his tone playful. "I just came to ask for something."
Ant raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? What's that then?"
"A kiss, please," Stephen said simply, his grin brimming with mischief.
Ant chuckled, pushing his chair back and rising to his feet. "Just a kiss? That's all you need?"
"For now," Stephen teased, his eyes twinkling.
Ant closed the space between them, his hands finding their place on Stephen's hips. "Well, who am I to ever deny you?" he murmured, leaning in to press a warm, lingering kiss to Stephen's lips.
The kiss was unhurried, grounding Stephen in the present. Ant's hands slid upward, cradling his face as his thumbs brushed tenderly against his cheeks. A contented hum escaped Stephen as the earlier restlessness dissolved into a tranquil stillness.
When they finally parted, Ant's gaze lingered, his thumb tucking a stray lock of hair behind Stephen's ear. "Better now, darling?" he asked softly, his voice rich with affection.
Stephen nodded, his cheeks flushed. "Much better. Thanks, love." He leaned in to place a feather light kiss at the corner of Ant's mouth before stepping away.
Ant caught his wrist, a playful glint in his eye. "Sure you don't want to stay a little longer?"
Stephen laughed, slipping free with a grin. "Tempting, but it's Dec's turn now. Besides you need to concentrate."
Ant groaned dramatically, though his smile didn't waver. "Fine. But don't you dare give him more than me! I'll be about an hour or so."
Laughing, Stephen blew him a kiss before leaving the room, his steps lighter. He found Dec lounging on the bed, one arm propped lazily behind his head while his other hand scrolled through his phone. As Stephen entered, Dec's gaze lifted, and his face brightened instantly.
"Well, if it isn't my favourite cause of trouble," Dec teased, setting his phone aside. "What brings you here, my love?"
Stephen climbed onto the bed, his grin cheeky. "Your turn," he announced, resting on his elbows.
Dec raised an eyebrow, feigning confusion. "My turn for what?"
"For a kiss, please," Stephen replied, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
Dec let out a soft laugh, leaning closer without hesitation. "Well, if that's all you want..." He cupped Stephen's chin, pressing a tender kiss to his lips. The kiss was slower, more deliberate than Ant's, carrying an intensity that left Stephen's heart fluttering.
As Stephen began to pull back, Dec's arm snaked around his waist, tugging him down onto the bed. "Oh no, you're not escaping now," Dec murmured, dropping a kiss onto his temple.
Stephen laughed softly, relaxing into Dec's hold. "You're determined for cuddles, aren't you?"
"Absolutely. I need my baby to survive," Dec quipped, his fingers threading gently through Stephen's hair. "And you're too precious to let go."
The rain outside played a soothing melody as Stephen melted into Dec's embrace. The steady rhythm of Dec's heartbeat beneath his ear became an anchor, drawing him into a cocoon of love and safety.
Their peace was interrupted by an exaggerated sigh from the doorway. Both turned to see Ant standing there, arms crossed, his expression a theatrical pout.
"Unbelievable!" Ant declared, shaking his head. "He gives me one kiss-one!-and then runs off to you for a cuddle session? The betrayal. I feel so neglected!"
Stephen buried his face in Dec's chest, laughing uncontrollably. Dec stretched out an inviting hand. "Come on, drama queen. Join us."
Ant didn't need further prompting. He climbed onto the bed, settling into the embrace and positioning Stephen snugly between them.
"Better, drama king?" Dec teased, looping his arm around Ant's shoulders.
Ant sighed contentedly, resting his head against Stephen. "Much better. I guess I can forgive you both."
Stephen giggled, pressing a kiss to Ant's forehead before turning to place another on Dec's jaw. "You're both ridiculous," he murmured.
"And yet, you love us," Ant replied with a grin.
"Always," Stephen said softly, his voice laden with sincerity.
They stayed entwined, sharing whispers, laughter, and kisses as the rain cocooned them in its melody. For Stephen, this was perfection-being cherished and safe in the arms of the men he loved most.
