On a quiet morning, Dec decided to take his dachshund, Rocky, to work. He felt a bit down and lonely, and the thought of having his little companion by his side gave him a sense of comfort. As he walked into the office building, he cradled Rocky close to his chest, the warmth of the small dog making him feel just a bit better.
Dec made his way to his and Ant's shared office, the familiar surroundings filled with the echoes of laughter and the hum of activity from their coworkers. He pushed the door open and stepped inside, holding Rocky securely in his arms.
Ant looked up from his computer, prepared to tease Dec about being late. However, as he caught sight of his best friend holding the tiny dachshund, his teasing grin melted into a soft smile. "Look at you two!" he cooed, his heart warming at the sight of Dec cradling Rocky against him. The sight was undeniably adorable.
Ant stood up, arms opening wide, and stepped over to Dec. Without hesitation, he wrapped his arms around him, pulling both Dec and Rocky into an embrace. The little dog licked Ant's cheek, and he chuckled softly, feeling the love radiating from the small creature.
"I love you, you know that?" Ant said, his voice gentle and sincere. He felt a need to pull Dec even closer, so he guided him back to their seats, urging him to sit in his lap. It was a familiar position they had shared many times, a way to find comfort in each other's presence.
As Dec settled into Ant's lap, Rocky nestled comfortably between them, Ant placed a tender kiss on Dec's cheek. "What's going on?" he asked, his voice low and caring. "You wouldn't bring Rocky to work unless something was bothering you."
Dec took a deep breath, the warmth of Ant's embrace wrapping around him like a safety blanket. "I've just been feeling a bit anxious," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "I thought maybe bringing Rocky would help."
Ant nodded, understanding washing over him. He tightened his hold around Dec, kissing him softly on the cheek again. "You're loved, Dec. I want you to know that your feelings are completely valid. It's okay to feel anxious sometimes."
As Dec relaxed against him, he could feel the tension slowly melting away. Ant's presence was reassuring, and the gentle way he held him made Dec feel safe. "Thank you," he murmured, looking up at Ant, his eyes reflecting gratitude.
Rocky squirmed slightly, and Ant laughed, giving the little dog a scratch behind the ears. "And you too, Rocky. You always know how to cheer up your dad, don't you?"
Dec chuckled softly, his heart feeling a little lighter. With Ant beside him and Rocky cuddled close, the weight on his chest lifted, and the loneliness that had shadowed him began to fade. In that moment, surrounded by love and support, Dec knew he could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
