As the evening shadows crept across the room, Stephen had fallen into a deep, peaceful sleep on Dec's sofa. It had been a long day, filled with rehearsals and laughter, but Stephen's exhaustion caught up with him quickly, and soon, his gentle snores filled the quiet space. Dec had noticed Stephen's weariness and allowed him to rest on the couch, not wanting to disturb him.
Hours passed, and when Stephen finally stirred, it wasn't to the familiar scent of his own bed or the sounds of the usual morning routine. Instead, he found himself in a soft, unfamiliar bed, the fabric of the sheets cool against his skin. As he shifted slightly, he realised something felt... different. Something soft pressed against his mouth-his eyes fluttered open, and he discovered a small, comforting dummy tucked between his lips.
Confused, he blinked, trying to make sense of his surroundings. His body felt strangely... snug. Looking down, he saw the unmistakable bulge of a nappy beneath the soft blanket. His heart raced as the realisation dawned on him-he wasn't in his own bed. He wasn't even in his usual state.
Before he could gather his thoughts or ask himself how he ended up in this situation, the sound of a door creaking open caught his attention. Dec stepped into the room, a gentle smile on his face as he adjusted something in his hand-an old-fashioned baby monitor. With a flick of his wrist, he turned it off, then looked over at Stephen, who was still blinking in confusion.
"Morning, little one," Dec said softly, his voice laced with affection.
"W-what...?" Stephen mumbled, the dummy still gently lodged in his mouth, though he didn't know why he wasn't removing it.
"You're too little to do anything more today, sweetheart," Dec explained, sitting on the edge of the bed. "You've been working so hard, and it's time to take a break. You're my baby now, Stephen, and that means I'm in charge of you. You'll call me 'Daddy,' alright?"
Stephen's heart fluttered. Something about the way Dec said it, with such care and warmth, made the strange situation feel less alarming. Maybe it was the comfort of the bed, or the safety of Dec's presence, but Stephen could feel himself slipping into the role play. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he sucked softly on the dummy, his eyes locking with Dec's.
"Okay, Daddy," Stephen whispered, the words feeling oddly natural.
Dec's smile widened. He reached out, carefully scooping Stephen up from the bed, cradling him with ease as if he were a child. "That's my good boy," he praised. "Now, let's get you changed."
Stephen felt a mix of embarrassment and trust as Dec gently carried him across the room to a changing table that Stephen hadn't even noticed. As Dec laid him down and began the process of changing his nappy, he continued to explain his new role as Stephen's protector and caregiver.
"You're my baby now, Stephen," Dec repeated, his voice low and soothing as he carefully cleaned Stephen and slid a fresh nappy under him. "You'll call me Daddy, and I'll take care of everything for you."
Stephen's head swam with the tenderness of Dec's actions. The moment felt surreal, but Dec's words were so warm and protective that they melted away any hesitation he had. He nodded softly, the role feeling more and more comfortable as Dec continued to change him.
Once he was clean and comfortable, Dec lifted him once more, placing him back in bed. He kissed Stephen's forehead, his hand resting on the little one's bottom. "You're my baby, and I'll always take care of you," Dec whispered, brushing a lock of hair from Stephen's forehead.
The rest of the day passed in a haze of gentle care. Dec fed Stephen, helping him with every meal and ensuring he had everything he needed. There was something deeply soothing about the way Dec doted on him, showering him with affection and praise. Stephen was content, feeling safe and adored, slipping further into the role of the baby Dec wanted him to be.
