Overly Affectionate

It had been one of those long days, the kind where Ant found himself buried in paperwork, the hours slipping away with barely a break. Sat at the desk in their office, the warm glow of the desk lamp casting a soft light over the pile of papers before him, he tried his best to focus. His eyes, tired from staring at the computer screen, would flicker to the clock every now and then, only to find that time had somehow gone even faster than he had hoped.

But today was different. Today, Dec was on a mission.

Dec had been moving around the room in an almost exaggerated way, doing everything but the work that was sitting before him. His energy seemed almost too much to contain. He kept pausing to kiss Ant on the cheek, press his forehead against his, or shower him with soft nicknames.

"Alright, my little sunshine," Dec grinned, wrapping his arms around Ant's shoulders from behind, pulling him into a bear hug. Ant let out a surprised laugh.

"Dec, stop it! You're distracting me!" Ant chuckled, brushing it off.

But Dec wasn't about to stop. He planted a soft kiss on Ant's cheek, nuzzling him for just a moment before gently slipping a steaming cup of tea into his hand.

"Drink up, baby boy," Dec whispered with a playful tone, the nickname sliding effortlessly off his tongue. "You've been working too hard, and I'm not having it."

Ant let out a small laugh and shook his head. "You're ridiculous," he muttered, trying to focus back on the screen.

But Dec was relentless. Every time Ant tried to push forward, Dec would sneak up behind him again, his arms wrapping around his waist, planting another kiss on his temple, his cheek, or the back of his neck.

"Here, I'll keep you company while you work," Dec said, a soft grin on his face as he nestled against Ant's side. He placed his hand on top of Ant's, guiding the pen in his hand for a moment before it fell still. "Good job, little one. You're doing great, and you're not alone."

Ant's smile faltered slightly as he glanced up at Dec. The constant affection was sweet, but something about it felt different today. It wasn't the playful teasing that they were so used to; it was almost... overwhelming.

"Dec," Ant finally spoke, his voice quieter now, "why are you being so... affectionate today? Not that I mind, but you've been showering me with kisses and hugs all day. Are you okay?"

Dec's expression softened. He stopped his playful teasing for a moment, his hands gently cupping Ant's face. "Of course, I'm okay, sunshine. I just wanted to remind you of something."

Before Ant could ask more, Dec kissed his forehead softly, then leaned down to kiss the top of his head. "I love you, Ant," he said, his voice low but steady, filled with sincerity. "You mean everything to me. Our friendship means more than anything. And you're loved. Cherished. Don't forget that."

Ant blinked, the sudden vulnerability in Dec's voice making his heart swell. The affection, now more tender than playful, made him pause. His brow furrowed slightly, a slight flush creeping across his cheeks as he realised the depth of what Dec was saying.

"I love you too, Dec," Ant replied, his voice barely above a whisper as he looked at his best friend, the words sincere but tinged with the vulnerability of the moment. "You're my world, you know that, right?"

Dec smiled warmly, leaning down to place another gentle kiss on Ant's feet, his lips brushing against the soles of Ant's shoes. Then, with soft words, he kissed up Ant's shins, each kiss lingering a little longer, as if to emphasise every single word he spoke.

"You're mine too," Dec murmured, kissing the skin of Ant's shin gently. "And I want you to always know it, little one. Always."

Ant flushed again, trying to process the sudden shift in the air between them. The affection, the kisses, the sweet words- it all felt so overwhelming, yet it also made his heart soar. The love they shared had always been evident in their playful teasing, but today, it felt deeper, more intimate, more real than ever.

Later that evening, as the day finally wound down, Ant found himself curled up on Dec's sofa, leaning into him as Dec gently massaged his feet. The comfort of Dec's presence, his steady hands, and the quiet reassurance of his words made everything feel like it was falling into place.

"Dec," Ant murmured, his voice still carrying a hint of hesitation, "you're really sure about all this, aren't you? About us?"

Dec paused for a moment, lifting his gaze to meet Ant's. "Of course," he said simply. "You're everything to me, Ant. This friendship, this bond we share, is the most important thing in my life. And I'll never let you forget it. You're loved. You're cherished. You're my family."

Ant's heart swelled as he heard the sincerity in Dec's voice, the affection pouring out of every word. He could feel it, in every touch, every kiss, and every word Dec spoke.

"I love you too, Dec," he whispered, a contented smile spreading across his face as he melted further into Dec's embrace. "I always will."

And as the evening stretched on, Ant felt a warmth and contentment settle deep within him, knowing that no matter what, they would always be there for each other, their bond growing deeper with every passing day.
