Dec sat at his desk, staring at the script in front of him, but his mind was elsewhere. He couldn't shake the feeling that he didn't express how much he loved Ant nearly enough. Ant was his best friend, his partner in crime, and the one person who understood him like no other. Today, Dec decided, he would make it his mission to show Ant just how much he cared.
As they arrived at their office, Dec sprang into action. "Alright, you stay put," he said, a playful glint in his eyes as he got up from his chair.
Ant looked up, his brow furrowed in confusion. "What are you up to, Dec?"
"Just trust me," Dec replied with a wink before stepping out to pick up their favourite takeaway. He returned shortly with bags filled with delicious food, the aroma wafting through the office. "I figured we could use a little treat to fuel our script writing."
Ant's eyes widened with delight as Dec set the feast on the table. "You didn't have to do this," he said, his voice tinged with surprise.
"But I wanted to," Dec insisted, plopping down beside Ant. They dug into their meal, sharing laughter and banter as they worked through the script. Throughout the day, Dec made sure to keep the affection flowing. He wrapped an arm around Ant's shoulders as they sat close together, letting his fingers play with Ant's hair absentmindedly.
"Dec, you're being really touchy today. Are you okay?" Ant questioned, looking up with a hint of concern.
"I'm great," Dec replied, leaning in to kiss Ant's cheek softly, ignoring the underlying worry in Ant's voice. "Just enjoying the moment."
As the hours passed, Dec took it upon himself to spoil Ant even further. He brought out snacks, surprising him with his favourite drinks, and every so often, he'd steal a hug, pulling Ant close to him. He held his hand as they flipped through the script pages, their fingers intertwined, and leaned into him, whispering sweet nothings that only made Ant blush.
"What's with you today?" Ant asked again, clearly puzzled by Dec's over-the-top affection. "Are you sure nothing's wrong? You're acting a bit... different."
Dec just smiled, feeling warmth spread through him at Ant's concern. "Nothing's wrong, I promise. Just thought I'd make today a little special."
Finally, after a long day of working and enjoying each other's company, they packed up and headed to the car. As Ant drove them home, he cast a sideways glance at Dec. "Seriously, what's up with you? You've been unusually... affectionate."
Dec shrugged, keeping his expression light. "Just felt like it."
Once they arrived at Dec's home, the door closed behind them, and Dec felt a rush of determination. He moved swiftly to wrap Ant in a tight hug, holding him close and breathing in his familiar scent. "I love you, you know that?" Dec murmured, the words spilling out before he could stop himself. "I just realised I don't show it enough."
Ant stiffened slightly in surprise but melted into the embrace, a smile creeping across his face. "Dec, I..."
"I know it sounds silly," Dec continued, tightening his grip, "but I want you to feel how much you mean to me. You're everything, and I just want to make sure you know that."
"Wow," Ant whispered, his heart racing as he leaned back to look into Dec's eyes. "I had no idea you felt that way."
"I do, and I'm going to start showing you more often. You deserve it," Dec declared, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Ant's lips, feeling a rush of happiness as Ant kissed him back.
"I love you too, Dec. More than I can say," Ant replied, wrapping his arms around Dec's waist and pulling him in for another hug.
The weight of the day melted away, leaving behind the comforting warmth of their bond. Dec smiled against Ant's shoulder, content in the knowledge that today's efforts had not only filled Ant's heart but had deepened their connection in a way that would last long after the day was over.
