college students! Johnny x Y/n
🍸
"Do you guys need anything else to drink?" Your mom approaches the guests of the night. Mingling conversations floated about your normally quiet foyer and living room.
Even the dining room was set up with extra tables to accommodate and please everyone.
"We're fine, thank you." The two ladies nod, and when one of them was speaking up, "where's your daughter? I'd love to see her."
Smiling kindly, your mom gently touches the ladies' shoulder, "I will go and find her! She's probably working on her schoolwork."
"Oh good, good!" The ladies answer back, and smile as well, their words being softened as the other conversations around them overlapped.
"Sweetie!" Your father calls from the kitchen, looking for the beer bottle opener and two cold beers in his hands, "where'd you put all my openers?"
"I looked everywhere!"
"I'll be right back, ladies, when you're done with those margaritas we'll get you two more!" Smiling at everyone as your mom quickly rushed to your dad, her nice clown dress floated in the air.
With each step she took, a guest appears through the crowd, the neighbors with their young kids, "Hey! I'm so happy you guys made it."
"Hey! Absolutely, Jackson insisted we make some cupcakes." Monica hands your mom the cupcakes sitting in a plastic container, all four of them bundled up to their chins.
Thanks to the dropping temperatures outside.
"Oh you guys didn't have to," sneaking her hand into the first drawer of the kitchen island, she hands the beer opener to your dad.
Who claims he looked everywhere.
The men speak while Monica and your mom walk over to the fridge, "lots of people came! That's wonderful."
Your mom tilts her head, gently sliding the cupcakes into the fridge, "yes, it's great! Nice for everyone to get together, you know. It's what the holidays are about."
"Where are Y/n and the boys?"
"Water, dear? Or I have Corona, Smirnoff, anything really. Y/n made me get a bunch of things from the store. Since she's 22 now she's a drink expert."
Your neighbor laughs at that, "water is fine," a gentle grin on her lips as she receives the water bottle.
"The boys are outside playing football with their friends and cousins. I told them to come inside soon if not they'll get pneumonia but you know how kids listen."
Waving her hand dismissively in the air, the two women chuckle, "well I don't know about my kids but your kids are way past that stage. How old are your boys now?"
"Well William is 25 James turned 24 last month, Matthew turned 23 and Y/n is 22. I don't know what kind of sorcery forced me to get pregnant every year back then."
"Mine are 10, 8, 6. It's not sorcery it's getting your husband to take the trash out and giving him a treat."
Your mom nods, trying to hide her laugh she gently taps Monica's hand, "drink up, honey."
"I'm so sorry, can I use your restroom?" Harper Storm appears, with her gentle green eyes.
"Monica!" Your mom grabs her arm, "this is Harper Storm, do you remember when we used to live up in the city? Well, the Storms recently moved into the neighborhood."
