ex partners! Ari & Y/n
Merry Christmas my lovelies, here's a bittersweet imagine with our sexy Ari to celebrate ☺️🎄✨
Walking into the supermarket, all the holiday lights and decorations have you feeling some kind of way, you're definitely wanting to make some hot cocoa.
And make some cookies too, twisting your lips you look back and forth to two packages sprinkle Christmas cookies and the classic chocolate chip recipe.
Gently tapping your foot, you can't decide between the two. At least the relaxing Christmas music is providing some kind of comfort and support in this hard decision.
"I'd go with the classic, it's Christmas Eve it's only right." Suddenly another voice is heard, and you are tempted to turn and see who was speaking to you—or if they were speaking to someone else.
A familiar face, with soft features and the sweetest voice you've ever heard, "thanks..." you smile at him and grab the chocolate chip cookie mix, "how are you?" Quickly glancing at his basket he has a bottle of wine and some flowers. You have to ignore the pain in your heart for now, and act like he's not seeing anyone.
Making the same jokes he used on you, doing that thing with his tongue, and kissing you breathless. "Good," he smiles at you but it's a sad smile, paired with sad eyes too. But you can see right through him, he's just to act like he's fine.
"Really cold," and here comes the small talk, "would rather be somewhere warm but...I love..."
"The snow during Christmas time," you finish for Ari, and as he nods and his smile grows bigger his long locks bounce just a bit.
"Yeah, yeah you remember," he responds, as if you forgot all about him. How could you? Ari's in your skin, in your head, in your blood. There's no way you could go a day without thinking about him.
Ari and you awkwardly stand in the middle of this grocery store, and you move briefly as an older woman checks out the baking mixes. And take a step closer to Ari. Gulping you have no idea what to say.
The last time you saw him, it's imprinted into your mind. His disappointed face, the way you felt so empty and desperate. "How's Mom and your family?"
"Good," Ari says again, not helping but to look at your pajamas underneath your long winter coat. "They keep getting crazier."
The both of you laugh, surely Ari's family is loud, boisterous and wonderful people. They're funny, and kind, and so welcoming.
You miss them. And it's only been a year but shit—it's felt like five years. "And how's work been for you?" This time Ari asks you a question.
"Great," you nod, "I've been really busy with um...work," you look around not able to keep his gaze, scratching your upper lip, "how's your work been?"
Ari looks at you, and he can't stop doing it. "Busy," you and him giggle, this awkward conversation couldn't be anymore awkward. "Busier than ever actually. But I'm hanging in there. Thankful for my job."
You can tell his guard is up, but yet you don't want to leave him. Or cut this awkward conversation short. "When did you get in?"
"Last night," you reply to him quickly, "luckily I didn't get caught in the snow."
"Yes luckily."
"Ari, your Mom called she's waiting on us," a young woman appears at the end of the aisle, with a pack of beer and some whipped cream. You smile at the girl and then at Ari.
