"Mommy is this okay to take to Daddy's house?"

Waving the Barbie doll around, you fold some PJs for Eliana to wear at her Dad's house, "that's fine, sweetie."

Her eyes move around her room, then little Eliana's shoulder drop dramatically when she sees her Barbie Doll Dream House looking at her. Frowning almost.

"Why can't I take Barbie's house?" Falling to her knees beside you as you packed all her things into her little duffle bag, she remains quiet for your answer.

Chuckling softly, you grab her face to lift her eyes up, "Daddy's car is only two doors baby, and the trunk isn't that big. Plus, you have plenty of toys at his house."

Your 5 year old grunts at you, and grabs her toy phone, dialing Chris's number but she presses random ones and then puts the phone angrily to her ear.

You watch her temper tantrum build, as she sat in a corner of her room, waiting for Chris to pick up. Her brows scrunched tight, as her face twisted in anger. Her stance is sassy as can be, it kind of reminds you of you when you're on the phone.

Your hip popped out, and your elbow across your torso, linking onto your other elbow. Your head tilted just slightly as if it helped you hear better.

Bonus points for your daughter because she was doing that same exact pose, but with a pissed off look, now that reminds you of when you're on the phone with Chris listening to him convince you on how he wants to take little Eliana on vacation.

But it's the middle of the school year she can't miss more than a week.

Chuckling again, you tidy up her things, it's been this way since she was three, you pack her things for two weeks with daddy. Even though she has clothes at his place.

Two knocks on the front door, has you and Eliana jumping up, normally it's quiet in this house besides Eli's joyful screams and giggles.

"Helloooooo!" Chris bangs on the front door, as if there wasn't a doorbell for him to press, "Elianaaaaa!"

"Ah! It's daddy!" Your baby squeals, tossing her play phone onto her bed and dashing into the hall. You zip up her bag and follow right behind her. To make sure she held onto the railing of the house and stepped down carefully.

She bolts like lightning McQueen to the stairs where she comes to a rough halt, you watch as she holds onto the railing and steps down each stair with patience.

Even though Chris was making her excited and all riled up, you both could see his silhouette on the other side of the door, "Daddy!" Eliana shouts in glee, "Daddy!"

"Anyone home?" Chris knocks on the door, you can see his jacket moving carefully in the spring breeze. "Hello in there!"

"Daddy! We're here! Mommy and Me!" Eliana's voice as much as she shouts the door is too thick for Chris to hear anything. He was the one who wanted double doors in this house. With high quality plywood.

Chris begins to whistle, he's always been impatient. "Mommy opens da door, open it."

"Jeez, I'm going, babe," you laugh and touch her head, quickly unlocking the front door to your house.

Eliana jumps twice and clutches her hands together and holds them right in front of her chest, "DADDY!" You smile because you know Chris was a better dad than he was a husband and that's okay. At least he adores your baby as much as you do.
