"Jeez, did everyone come to the city for the holidays? It's like they're giving free stuff out somewhere..."

Your friend Tina steps out of the coffee shop first, you close behind. As you weave around people come in and out as well.

Crossing and walking down the street, bringing the cup to your lips you enjoy that first sip feeling.

"Mmm," you hum in delight, "c'mon T, this is the best part of the holidays."

You scoop your arm through hers and the both you walk down the street you've walked down plenty of times before.

This city, the biggest city in the world, is your home. Even though millions come to visit and treat it like a vacation.

This was your everyday life.

"No. The best part of the holidays is when January rolls around and I can actually walk down 5th Avenue without feeling squished."

"Oh, I'm sorry Ms.Grinch," teasing her, you guys try to walk down but it really is crowded.

But then again New York City is always crowded, noisy, and it never sleeps. And you love living here.

It's a place of culture and history. "Let's just get to rehearsals before we're late. I'm getting claustrophobic."

Snickering lightly, you can air over to your friend, "that's the good thing about having a voice...excuse me! Excuse us..." gently pushing past people they make way for the both of you.

And when you guys are two block down from the coffee shop, something tells you to look at your watch, "you better put some pep in your step, Ms.Grinch because rehersals start in 15 minutes."

"What!" She shrieks.

"We're at least 20 minutes away from Radio City," grabbing her you guys dash through the crowds. She's worried but you're confident that you guys can make it.

"Hey!" Whistling over one of those guys that ride the bicycles with blasting music he immediately stops, "Radio City, please!"

Tina and you hop on, because if you think about it there's no other way. Unless you guys wanted to run down 8 blocks.

"And if you want a tip, I suggest you put all your might into those pedals, Santa." The guy had a full Santa costume on, and he obeys pedaling as quick as he could.

"Here is fine, we'll walk the rest of the way!" Pulling over in the bike lane, Santa leaves you guys and you pay him.

Tina and you disappear into the street, and somehow you get lost in the pool of tourists and New Yorkers, pushing on your toes you see Tina's pink beanie way up front.
