Book Blurb:
Life doesn't end at graduation.
Elizabeth's time at Hogwarts got off to a rocky start her fifth year, and didn't *stop* rocking through her sixth or seventh years, and now she's off into the real world - surely things will go more smoothly now...
Ominis' struggles against his controlling family have come to an end once and for all - but what now? Will the wizarding world forgive him for who he is? Will Elizabeth?
Sebastian has achieved the impossible - character growth. And what has that gotten him except more responsibilities? Off into the working world, it's nose to the grind stone and no more time for adventures.
Andrew is reaching for what he truly wants, but if he's able to catch it, can he hold onto it?A/N: As mentioned in the notice, this book will be organized a little bit differently from the previous - more... short story type arcs rather than me winding them all together, as this will cover the rest of their lives.
Previously:
Our crew graduated! Andrew attended a dinner with his father where he was surprised to find his father not opposed to his trying out for professional quidditch instead of becoming an auror. Ominis, for his part, was still on the fence about what to do about his relationship with Elizabeth. Elizabeth, too, is a bit torn at the moment, still unsure if she is willing to trust Ominis. She dueled Sebastian in the Crossed Wands championship (A proper Hogwarts Farewell...) and won. Sebastian learned that Anne wishes to become a dragonologist, and accepted that, despite the fact it's dangerous, which through Anne for a loop. Aria watched Andrew, Ominis, Sebastian, and Elizabeth graduate. Andrew then wasted no time asking her on a date, since he was no longer a student, which rather shocked the poor girl (in a good way).
General content warning/disclosure:
Because this is the rest of their lives, there WILL be instances of things like pregnancy and death. However, I'm not going to go into detail, to the point I don't think it really needs a tag or warning, but I'll include them anyways as I know some people have issues with them in their reading. Just know it won't be overly detailed, and it's all framed as part of life. In that vein, there may also be children. Also as much as I like to stay true to life and the time period, there will NOT be any infant/child deaths, nor loss of pregnancy, so don't worry about that.
Chapter 1
Late June, 1893 - Elizabeth Smith
When Elizabeth passed through the gateway, leaving Platform nine and three-quarters behind, she was greeted not by a pack of owls, but by Mary. Her dark brown hair was swept back in an elegant chignon, and the white blouse and plaid skirt she wore suited her far more than Providence's grey ever had. Mary flung herself at Elizabeth, nearly losing her wide brimmed hat as she smothered her in a hug.
"Elizabeth!" Mary said, beaming. "Oh, I'm so happy to see you. How was the train?"
"Slow," Elizabeth said with a wry smile. "But fun. Andrew and Amit wrangled me into a game of exploding snap. That aside - look at you!" Elizabeth gestured to Mary's person and grinning. "You're positively glowing. Looks like freedom is treating you well."
"More like Lee is," Mary said in a stage whisper before laughing at Elizabeth's expression. "Which, come on! I can't wait for you to see the apartment."
She caught Elizabeth's hand and tugged her toward the street, waving down a hackney cab. The driver, a muggle man with a thick mustache, nodded as Mary rattled off the address. Mary helped her load her owl's cage and her trunk, then they piled inside. As the cab jolted into motion, Mary practically bounced in her seat.
