"Bruce!" I called, running towards my old childhood friend. I couldn't believe he was back after all these years. He turned at his name but looked at me confused. "Bruce! Oh Bruce! I've missed you so much!" I cried as I reached him.

"Uh sorry but who are you?" He asked. I frowned as I looked up at him. What was he talking about? Could he honestly not remember me?

"Do you honestly not remember me? Bruce we grew up together." I said. Bruce looked at me for a couple of seconds before a smile spread across his face

"Now I remember. How I forgot you (y/n), I'll never know. It's been so long." Bruce said as he wrapped his arms around me. I smiled as I hugged him back. Then he surprised me. Pulling back slightly, Bruce smiled down at me. I blushed under his gaze. I had always had a crush on him but never told anyone.

"What's wrong Bruce?" I asked. He just shook his head.

"I forgot how beautiful you were too." He whispered as he leaned down to my height. I gazed up at him as his hand moved up to my cheek.

"Bruce...." I said trailing off as my eyes closed.

"Hmmmmm." Bruce muttered as his eyes closed as well.

"Never mind." I whispered. Seconds later our lips touched. I felt weak immediately and Bruce caught me as I started to fall. We pulled away and our gazes met. We started to laugh and Bruce rested his head against mine.

"I've waited years to be able to do that." He said with a smile. "I've had a crush on you for years but I never knew how to find you. Or to show you for that matter." I blushed and shook my head.

"I've had a crush on you too Bruce. Since we were little and running around Wayne manor. I've been waiting for you for years." I whispered shyly. Bruce smiled and kissed me again.

*three years later (after the dark knight rises)*

Alfred hugged me as I cried. After seeing the bat blow up, it was all I had done.

"It will be alright miss (y/l/n). Let's go back inside. I'll make you that dish you always loved. What was it called again?" Alfred said as he led me back inside Wayne manor.

"Not a dish Alfred. Cookies. Peanut butter ones." I whispered. "But no thank you Alfred. They remind me of......" I broke off as Alfred and I reached the elevator to the bat cave. "Why are we going down here?" I questioned as I looked up at Alfred.

"You'll see miss (y/l/n). Just go down and you will see. Master Wayne asked me to do this as soon as everything ended." He said as he gently pushed me into the elevator.

"Aren't you coming Alfred?" I asked.

"I'm sorry but master Wayne was very clear that it should only be you. You will be needing this as well." He said as he handed me an umbrella. "Go through the waterfall. Go to where master Wayne took you when he told you that he was batman." Alfred said and waved as the doors closed and I started to head down into the bat cave.

I followed Alfred's instructions and went to the meadow where Bruce took me when I found out he was batman. I smiled sadly at the memory and trudged on. I finally reached the meadow and set the umbrella down. I stood there, trying not to cry as the memory became more and more clear. Tears had started to stream down my face without me knowing. A figure dressed in all black made its way towards me. I took in the slicked back hair and the scowl on the figure's face. My heart jumped as I recognized my love and my life.

"Bruce!" I cried as I ran towards him. "You're alive! Oh my god! I don't believe it!" Bruce welcomed me with open arms as I flung my arms around his neck.

"Oh (y/n) I wanted to tell you so much but it would have put you in so much danger. I'm so sorry for putting you through all that. I'm so sorry." Bruce whispered into my hair. "I love you so much. That's why I couldn't leave without you. I had to come back for you." Tears ran down my cheeks as I looked up at him. His hand moved so he could brush away my tears and I leaned into his touch.

"I love you too Bruce. I'll go anywhere. As long as I'm with you." I whispered and pulled him down for a sweet kiss. When we broke away, Bruce led me to the batmobile where we took off for whatever place he had picked to hide this time. I didn't know where it was. All I knew was I was going to be with the man I loved. And that's all that mattered to me.
