He lifted the bottle up to his lips and smirked at me.

"You bastard." I said. Tears gleamed in my eyes. "How could you?"

"How could I what?" He growled. "How could I walk out? How could I pretend you didn't exist? That I could ever love you? Remember (y/n), I'm gay. I could never love you." I clenched my jaw.

'Remember he's drunk.' I kept telling myself.

"Luke...." I said.

"Don't give me that shit." He cut me off. "Don't Luke me."

"Luke, you're drunk. Let me take you home." I said. After a few minutes he nodded. We got into my car and drove back to our shared apartment in silence. I tried to help him out of the car but he shrugged me off and went to the apartment on his own. He leaned against the wall while he waited for me to open the door. I did and pushed past him. I dropped the keys on a table and pushed my hair out of my face. I planned on going to bed and letting him sleep off whatever he had done to himself and just talking to a hungover Luke in the morning. But he had other plans.

"Same old (y/n) never wanting to make a scene in public. Always waiting until she got home to have a row." Luke snarled. I stopped in my tracks.

"Who decided to go get drunk and start screaming at me about something you did?" I hissed as I whirled around. He headed into the kitchen and got himself yet another beer. He was gonna have a killer hangover tomorrow.

"I did not scream at you." He said. I was pretty sure steam was coming out of my ears at this point.

"Bullshit!" I raised my voice. "Everything bad that ever happened to me was because of you." By now the tears were falling down my cheeks. "I lost my first chance at first love because you needed me. You needed me to help you figure out what was "wrong" with you. I could have gone to rada but you wanted me to go with you to Cardiff at 17. I had to take a job as a bloody waitress to make ends meet until you could get us jobs in movies but you only ever got yourself one!" I yelled. Luke smirked and turned his head. I didn't know what he was playing at but it was getting me more mad. "This isn't a joke Luke! I'm done! Either you clean up your bloody act or I'm gone." My voice broke at the end and Luke turned back towards me. His eyes searched mine for a bit.

"You didn't give any of that up for me. You gave it up because you wanted to give it up." He said. I just shook my head.

"I was a foolish 15 year old girl who fell for the guy she knew would break her heart. But she didn't care. As long as she was with him, everything would be fine." I said. I wiped away a few years. "But it didn't turn out that way Luke. I'm done. Do what you want to do. I don't care anymore." I squeezed my eyes shut and turned to go.

"Wait." I heard. I turned to look at Luke who was looking at the fridge filled with pictures of us. He sighed and seemed more sober than he was a few seconds ago. "I'm sorry. For everything. For taking you for granted. For making you miss all those opportunities. For dragging you out here with me. I'm sorry..." His voice broke as he turned to look at me. A few tears rolled down his cheeks and I was tempted to go wild them away. "I'm sorry I pushed you away when I should have held you closest to me." Luke hung his head.

"What do you mean?" I asked. Luke looked up at me and slowly moved closer to me until he was standing right in front of me. He gently took my hand and wiped away my tears.

"I love you. I've just been to scared to admit it. That's why I always say I'm gay. So I can keep you safe. Because I never thought you could actually love me." Luke said. He kissed my cheek and then moved towards the couch, letting go of my hand.

"Luke." I whispered. I ran at him and jumped on his back. Luke caught my legs before I could go falling back to earth. He turned his head to look at me. I jumped off his back and hugged him tight. He hugged me back just as tight. "I love you too." I said as I kissed him passionately.
