I woke up to the smell of food. I rubbed my eyes and slowly sat up. Why did I smell food? I was in bed. There was no way that I could be making that food. I got out of bed slowly and carefully walked downstairs. I tried to be as quiet as I possibly could. Even though the thought had occurred to me that if someone had broken into my house, they would not be cooking food. Part of me argued that maybe they were hungry and wanted food so I still tried to be as careful as I could. I walked into my kitchen in a defensive stance which quickly dropped when I saw who was standing at the stove cooking bacon. I smiled and walked up behind him. I hugged him from behind and rested my head against his back. I closed my eyes and took in the way he felt against me.

"Good morning darling." Tom said. I smiled even though he couldn't see me and snuggled into him more.

"Morning." I murmured. I could feel Tom's laughter through his body.

"Still not a morning person I see." He said as he looked over his shoulder at me. I nodded and sighed contently. I felt Tom move so he could turn around in my arms and I opened my eyes. He gazed down at me with a smile on his face. I put my chin on his chest and smiled back up at him.

"I never was and probably never will be Tom. I only got out of bed this morning because I smelt food." I said. Tom smiled even wider.

"I bet you forgot that I had a key." He said. I blushed and tried to avoid his gaze. "Am I right love?"

"Yeah. I thought someone had broken in." I finally admitted. Tom laughed again.

"Darling, if someone broke into your house, they wouldn't want to take your food." He tried to reason.

"But what if they were hungry!" I exclaimed as I pulled away from Tom and walked over to my fridge. I opened the door and pulled out the milk. I looked up to see Tom looking at me with an amused smile on his face. "Hey! It could happen!"

"Sure it could." He said as he shook his head and turned back to the stove. "Whatever you say (y/n). Whatever you say." I walked past him to get to the tea kettle. As I did, I gently bumped into him with my shoulder. I continued to the kettle as if nothing happened while Tom watched me over his shoulder with a grin on his face. We continued to make breakfast in almost silence. The only noise was the radio that Tom had put on whenever he had arrived. Once we finished cooking, we sat down to a nice quiet English breakfast. We didn't talk much. We mainly just ate. Once we were done, I smiled at Tom from across the table. "What is it darling?" He asked as he got up.

"Nothing." I said while shaking my head and getting up as well and following him back into the kitchen.

"Oh it's definitely something." Tom said as he rested up against my counter.

"Not really." I said as I leaned back against the island.

"I'd say it is." Tom said. "Your smile is nearly splitting your face in two (y/n)."

"I'm just thinking about how lucky I am to have found a guy like you." I said. Tom looked down at his feet then back up at me with a smile. "I mean you come to my house at who knows what time just to make me breakfast. How much more sweet can a guy get?" I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his torso. My chin rested on his chest and he hugged me back as he looked down at me.

"I'm not sure darling. But I don't think it will be hard to find out." Tom said as he leaned down to press his lips to mine in a tender loving kiss.
