A/N: So I love Matt Ryan and after seeing him for the second time in two years, I felt like I needed to write something. I love this song and honestly this story kind of wrote itself. I got all the pictures (here and all my other stories) off Google except for the first three. I took those at the convention I was at. So enjoy!

They're putting up the chairs to close, she let me settle up my tab
I told her button up its cold I ain't too drunk to hail us a cab
We can get a cup of coffee unless you gotta get back home
Sitting across that table, a gypsy couldn't read her mind
I took her hand and told her I just wanna crawl into your eyes
She shook her head and said, "It's cold" cold is just a cheap disguise

I looked across the table at the man of my dreams. Matt was talking animatedly about an episode of Legends that he was filming and technically wasn't supposed to even be telling me about. But Matt was Matt. And he knew me way too well. He knew my love of John Constantine, the hellblazer and he knew my love of Legends. Part of me always thought it had to do with something I told him once upon a time too but I would never ask him to confirm it. Part of me was too scared to and part of me just didn't want to know the answer. Matt noticed I was just staring at him and smiled at me before nodding his head towards the door.

"Want to get out of here?" he asked. I nodded and took his hand. He led me to his car and held the door open for me to get in. He was always the perfect gentleman.

Have you ever known a real love?
The kind of love that makes you feel love?
No this ain't let's make a deal love
It'd make an angel give his wings up
It makes you guilty cause you want more
If it's a kiss that you would die for
Feels like you're falling through the stars
If it could break your heart
It's real love

I barely paid attention to what was going on around us as Matt drove us back home. The radio played some love song quietly in the background and Matt reached over to change it until he glanced over at me. His eyes met mine and he gave me a little smirk before putting his hand back on the wheel.

"Why is it every time there's a cheesy love song, once I look at you I can't bring myself to change it?" Matt chuckled.

"Because you love me." I couldn't stop the blush that spread across my cheeks. Matt shook his head as we pulled up in front of the apartment building we were currently staying at. The car was turned off and Matt turned towards me.

"More than you will ever know love." He leaned over and gave me a gentle kiss.

We drank that muddy pot of coffee it was morning when I walked her home
I've never been this lonely, lying in this bed alone
Her words still ringing in my head, her sad eyes sunk me like a stone

The car door slammed a little as Matt closed it. His warm hand wrapped around my cold one as he led me up the stairs into the building. I couldn't take my eyes off of him no matter how hard I tried. The elevator dinging made me snap out of my trance a little and Matt pulled me into the small space. I was backed up against a wall as Matt moved impossibly close to me. The smiles never left our faces as he moved his hands to my waist and I put my hands on his shoulders. His lips met mine in a gentle kiss that didn't end until the older couple that lived down the hall from me coughed.

Matt and I broke away, both of us blushing like mad. I muttered an embarrassed apology to the couple as Matt practically dragged me out of the elevator. The old woman gave me a look that said all I needed to know: they knew what it was like to be young and in love. Five doors down and I was searching for my keys in my pocket while Matt stood against the wall. I kept stealing glances at him as I unlocked the door.

"Guess this is good night love." Matt whispered. I nodded sadly.

"Guess it is." I mumbled. It was obvious neither of us wanted to leave but there was shooting later and we both needed to sleep.

"I'll see you later love." Matt kissed me one last time before starting to head off down the hall and back to the elevator. "Promise." I watched Matt get into the elevator before entering my own apartment.

I went through my normal routine of getting ready for bed, the playlist that Matt made me playing in the background. I often laughed at the mix of classic rock, punk rock, and love songs that he included for me. Every son in the list was just so...Matt. Some seemed to tell the story of us and some served to remind us of each other. The song that played when we met. The song that played when we had out first slow dance. The song that played when we danced for the first time together. The song that played on our first date. The song that played when we first kissed. He had added them all. As I got into bed, the lights went off and then the music. I set my alarm and couldn't help but smile at my lock screen. Matt always hated the picture I had chosen but to me it was perfect. I put my phone down and finally went to bed.

I put on the same shirt and I ran out the door
Stole a fistful of roses from the sidewalk store
Just my heart in my hand I had nothing to throw
Standing on the front step calling to your window

I woke up to a pounding on my door. Sleepily stumbling to the door, I opened it to reveal Matt wearing his pajamas and holding his phone. I rubbed my eyes as I looked at his disheveled hair and the look of relief on his face.

"Matt?" I mumbled. I was cut off by Matt pulling me in for a hug and burying his face in my neck. I stumbled a bit as I tried to hold up his weight. He pulled back and pressed a kiss to my cheek and then my forehead and finally my lips. "Everything ok sweetheart?" Matt nodded into my neck.

"It is now." He whispered. The door was eventually closed and Matt followed me to my room.

As we got under the covers, Matt pulled me as close as he could. I sighed as I put my head on his chest. I rubbed circles on his ribs as he turned off the light.

"Everything ok Matt?" I asked as I looked up at him, barely making his features out in the dark. I could make out his head nodding.

"Yeah." He breathed. He bit his lip and I just waited. I had started to drift off again when he spoke. "I had a bad dream." I nodded.

"Wanna talk about it?" I asked. He shook his head.

"No." I nodded again and tightened my grip on his knowing it must have been bad if he turned up at my door in the middle of the night freaking out over it. "But when I woke up, the first thing I did was roll over to pull you close and go back to sleep..." Matt trailed off and took a shaky breath. "You weren't there. And I panicked." Even in the dark I could tell his cheeks were turning pink.

"I'm here now." I said as I moved so our heads were level on the pillows. I reached out and brushed my fingers through his blond hair. "And everything is ok. You don't have to worry about anything now." Matt nodded and held my wrist. He turned his head and kissed the palm of my hand.

"I know." He whispered against my hand. I scooted closer to him and slid my arm over his chest. His eyes met mine as I started to drift off again. "I know."
