"He's not here!"
"Oh, well done Luke, I hadn't noticed!"
Luke and Cat had overturned every room in the house looking for him, and were now rooting through piles of junk in the garage. They had found Luke's car keys and a few other missing items, but no Pete.

Cat slumped down on an old chair. "There's gotta be somewhere we haven't checked."
Luke clicked his fingers. "The den- the attic!"
"No good." Cat shook her head "He doesn't like climbing the ladder."
"Well... There's no where else. Next option is to start calling everyone who came to the party last night, which will take till the end of forever."

Cat was on the verge of tears. He wasn't here. All that was in the room was the beanbags, the sofa and the smudged remains of circle with a piece of paper in the middle...
Piece of paper?
She rushed forwards and grabbed it. It was an envelope, silky black in colour embossed with runic swirls around the edges.
"Luke...!"
She called him over. He watched as she opened the envelope.
Inside was a letter.

Shadows in the night,
Came to play.
At the end of the night,
Stole the baby away.

A pile of words,
Jackets of hoards,
Take a quick look,
In the place of the book.

Cat was shaking with fear.
"Luke... what does it mean?"
"Cat... look down."
Cat looked down. The runes, last night drawn in chalk were now burn into the floor, still glowing with small embers.

"Oh. My. God."
