"I think... I think I'm going to continue on. I need to save my friends." She said, her face setting with determination.
Julian stroked the side of her face gently, a wistful expression on his face. "Are you sure? Is that what you really want? Come on, Cat, it's me. I was your friend first." He brushed his fingers oh-so-softly over the puckered scar on her cheek, hidden under her long side-fringe. "I'm the one who comforted you that night when you couldn't sleep, when you were scared, alone in the dark. I am your friend too."
She looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I'm sorry, Julian. You were there when I needed you to be. But... I don't need you anymore. I need them now. Please, just let's go to your sister, get this over with.""Fine." Julian sounded really angry, as he roughly grabbed her hand. "Fine. But you will need me, when you finally face Talitha. You have no plan, no power, no idea what she's got in store. If you love your friends really that much, you will need me."
"And you need to stop letting your sister pull your strings! Admit it, your actually here to deliver me to her, you just tacked on this conversation!"
Julian pulled her close, eyes blazing. His voice was deathly quite. "No one controls me. I do what I want."
He went as though to kiss her, but in the last second, they materialized in an icy throne room.
"Well, you two look like your having fun. I hope your aware there's an age difference, though. I mean, you knew her when she was a kid, Julian. What is it with you and that, anyway?"
Talitha lounged on a frozen throne in an elegant silver and white gown, with a sharp, icicle crown."I'm so sorry, Cat, I apologize for my brother. He doesn't quite understand the word 'No'. Still, I have to thank you. Without you he wouldn't even have gotten involved in this game. You returned his spark, his flare. Now then, are you ready to play the endgame?"
