"Wait, what's trial by Jabberwocky?" Said Cat, an almost panicked expression on her face.
Talitha practically oozed evil with the pleased expression on her face.
"Well, basically, your greatest champion fights my greatest champion, my Jabberwocky. You win, you go free. You loose, you all die. Any questions? No? Good. Now whose competing, lets see..." She scanned the line of girls.
Everyone had a feeling who she'd pick.
"Catherine I think is your best choice, wouldn't you agree?"
The girls all looked at each other, the others silently apologizing to Cat.
Talitha clapped her hands excitedly. "Wonderful! This way!"

She lead them to a cave, a dark and foreboding hole in the rock. "Well, then Cat darling, in you go."
"Do I get any weapons?" Asked Cat, guessing the answer.
"You should have thought of that before hand! If you don't come prepared, why should I help you?" Talitha simpered.

"I thought so. No point giving me a fair chance. That's not nearly half as fun." Thought Cat. "I hope you get eaten by a bandersnatch."

"In you go, chop chop!" Said Talitha, pushing Cat into the cave.
"And when you don't survive..." she looked menacingly at the remaining three girls. "Chop, chop."

Cat walked into the cave. Condensation dripped down the damp walls, stalactites and stalagmites glistening with moisture.
Her breath fogged in front of her, a grey cloud issuing into the cold air.
That's when she saw it. Gigantic, hulking and terrifying, but at the same time beautiful, like a rough cut statue.
And asleep.
Cat let out a short, hysterical giggle. It was asleep. All that, and it was asleep.
Asleep and vulnerable.
This was too easy.
Except she had no weapons to dispatch it with, which was a bind.
Not that she thought she could actually kill it. Cat didn't like the idea of destroying such a terrifyingly beautiful creature.
Instead, a plan began to form in her mind.
