"I came to play and I'm going to win." Said Cat, trying to sound confident but fully aware she was shaking like a leaf.
"So confident." Mused Talitha. "Confident and pretty. You know, Julian, I can see why you like her. I like her a lot better than Jenny, that's for sure. This one's got spunk."
"Jenny? Should I even ask? Do I even want to know?" Thought Cat, practically melting under Talitha's gaze. "Probably not. Limited time and all. Besides, I'm leaving soon."
"Just tell me what I have to do. I really don't want to be here longer than I have to."Talitha laughed wickedly. "Alright, come this way! Now, did you work out the riddle? Cause then you'll know what this is and it'll be so much easier to fix."
At first, Cat thought it was an empty picture frame. That was great, what was she meant to do, paint a picture for it to hold?
Then another thought came into her mind.
The snow queen.
This tale was the snow queen.
The lady in the meadow was the flower witch, the girl in the castle the princess. The robber girl, the witchy woman, it all fit!
And Talitha was the snow queen which meant...
"Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no. I am not fixing that mirror. It'll do something evil, like freeze the world, or... annihilate all human life or... turn me into a chipmunk! Point is, not doing it."
"Then you give up?" Talitha said with a pleasant smile. Then Cat noticed something. Behind Talitha's skirt, clinging onto her hand, was a fair haired little boy in white clothes, looking at Cat with big blue eyes. Petey.
Talitha was cruel, she really was.
Cat sighed in defeat. "Where are the pieces?"
