Oh, come on!

Soon, the mirror was complete. Cat stood back, admiring her handiwork for a second.
Then she turned around and faced Talitha.
"I would like my friends back, please. That means Petey too. Oh, and Harry, even though he is a treacherous bastard."
"Oh, yeah? Would a treacherous bastard return all your friends to you?" Harry walked in, followed by Luke, Moira, Valerian and Lindsay.
Harry smiled, his usual, lopsided, cheery smile. "I felt bad about what I'd done, and I couldn't help remembering you asking me to protect them before you ate the apple. You did that for us, and so I decided to do something for you. I went and got back your friends. And... I would like to apologize for being... Well, yeah, you know. And... is there any chance we can still be friends?"
Cat felt like laughing and crying all at once, as she embraced her friend. "Oh, you idiot. We never stopped being your friends!"
"I did." Mumbled Moira. "Not that I'd really been your friend in the first place."
Cat turned back to Talitha. She was avoiding making eye contact with Julian. She didn't want to see his face, not now.
She was scared of what she might see.

"Talitha, I would like my brother back now."
Talitha shrugged casually. "Okay, he's there." She pointed to the mirror. In the glass, trapped, was Pete.
Cat felt like screaming. "Wha... why... How is he in the mirror? Why did you put him there?"

Talitha smiled sweetly. "Come, come Cat. Surely you can't think that your last task was just to fix a mirror? That's hardly difficult enough?"
"Hardly difficult enough?" Yelled Cat. "Have you actually tried doing it? Remember, whilst you may be a strong, powerful Shadowman, I'm still just human! We aren't the same as you?"
Talitha smiled sweetly, ignoring Cat. "The thing about mirrors is, no matter what we think, what we convince ourselves of, our reflections never lie. The show us exactly who we are. So tell me, Cat, do you think you can face exactly who you are?"
