Talitha immediately rounded on her brother. "What did you do that for? She was loosing, Julian!"
Julian gave Talitha a look. "Yes, well, she's not part of the game anymore. She gave up."
Talitha looked confused. "No, she didn't. Besides, even if she did, I was having fun."
"Ah, well, thing is, we had a deal. She asked for my help, immediately forfeiting the game to me. You can't touch her without going through me."
Cat smirked weakly, leaning hard against Julian. "Call it the lesser of two evils." She croaked.Julian raised an eyebrow at her. "You saying she's more evil than me?"
Cat yawned, dark prickling on the edge of her vision. "Depends on perspective." Her consciousness was slipping. She wanted nothing more than to fall asleep right now, safe in Julian's arms, though part of her knew she would probably regret this when she woke up.Talitha looked a mix of enraged and sick. "You'd choose her over me? I'm your sister!"
Julian glared at her. "Yes, I know that. Doesn't mean you're my world."
Talitha turned her eyes onto Cat. "So, I can't touch you. But I can touch your friends. You've basically damned them by leaving them!"
And with that, all of her friends appeared next to Talitha, trapped in a suspended cage.
A wave of Talitha's hand and the floor opened up into a large, cavernous pit.
"No! Don't hurt them!" Cat screamed, lunging towards them. Julian held her back, arms around her waist. "You can't do anything. It's not going to work!"
"Don't tell me what I can and can't do!" Yelled Cat, struggling against him.
The sparks were running wild, the electricity in her blood fizzing through her body, igniting her soul.
She had to save them.
Slowly, the cage lowered towards the pit.
Talitha grinned evilly.
Cat screamed.
A spark, an explosion filled the room with burning white light, ripping through the room.
Then Cat's world went black.
