"Arrrrrrgh!" Cat yelled, stomping her foot in frustration. It wasn't making sense. Nothing made sense!
"You've set me an impossible task! You've set me an impossible task, haven't you! You've set me up to loose!"
"Oh, come on, Cat, your such a smart girl." Said Talitha in a taunting voice. "Surely you can work this out!"
Cat looked at the pile of shattered glass. "Really can't do this. Oh god, I'm going to fail. This is my worst nightmare."
Blue.
A spark of blue in the mountain of glass. Swiftly, Cat rummaged through and found a shard of glass with a blue light at it's center.
Quickly, she placed it in the corner of the frame. It was a start. Turning back to the pile, she saw another light up.
Her brow furrowed. What was doing this? She glanced over at Julian. His face was neutral, but that could mean anything.
But the blue was familiar, a little like his eyes and a little like...
The necklace.
"This is a blue diamond. A rare jewel believed by many cultures to protect the owner from harm... It should help with the nightmares."It couldn't be... could it? She tugged the chain out from her neckline and could have laughed. It was glowing with a faint blue light. Funny the necklace had chosen now to reveal its magic now, but still, ever grateful.
Cat began to quickly piece together the glass, swiftly rebuilding the mirror.
Talitha was right. It wasn't that hard.
The necklace helped with nightmares, and that was basically what all this was, Cat thought. Just a really big nightmare.
None of it was real. Cat knew real fear. And that made the game seem a lot less scary in comparison.
"How... how are you... What's going on?" Asked Talitha, stunned that Cat was apparently acing her impossible task.
"Me? I'm just fixing a mirror." Said Cat, grinning.
