Moira walked along the path, eyes peeled for the first signs of danger.
Flowers and trees lined the path, trailing vines and leaves across her way, creating eerie shapes and shadows.
Moira tiptoed along, jumping at every sound and movement.
Was it just her, or were the plants moving? And not just blowing in the breeze, either. Really moving. Moving of their own accord.
A whisper seemed to go through the air, as if the trees were talking to each other.
"H-hello?" Stuttered Moira, spinning around wildly.
The whispering grew louder and louder.
"Is there anybody there?" Said Moira, louder.

The whispering increased, words becoming clear. "Just us, just the trees and the flowers, just us..."

Moira covered her ears, cowering away from the noise. "Stop talking! You're freaking me out!"
The trees almost seemed to laugh at this, the noise echoing spookily around the wood.
Then Moira saw it. One of the roots of the giant flowers spanned across the road shifted, lifting up to block her path.
Moira screamed, and turned to run the other way, but the plants blocked that too.
Vines began to inch their way towards her, leaves bearing down on her like giant claws...
She screamed again and threw herself to the side, rolling out of the way of one of the plants.
She dodged left and right, avoiding the hellish foliage as it rained down attacks on her.
Suddenly, she felt herself thrown up into the air by one of the many tendrils of these monster-flowers.
She could feel herself falling from a distance, tumbling down to earth...
She glanced beneath her. There, below her, a giant bloom was opening up it's petals like a mouth, preparing to swallow her...
She screamed...
And as she landed in the open maw of the carnivorous petals, she swung herself to the right, grabbing one of the petals and tearing it open. After all, it was still only a flower.
She threw herself away from the bloom as it screamed and writhed in pain. Then, vaulting over its flailing appendages, she started off back down the path, fending off plants left and right.
