Cat stood there, wondering how to react to Lindsay's outburst. Then she saw it. The door. "Lindsay!" She called, turning to the row of shelves she'd last headed down. "I see the door!"
No reply.
Scowling harshly, Cat stormed around the shelves to where Lindsay was sulking. Lindsay turned her back to her as she approached.
"Lindsay..." Cat started.
Lindsay snorted loudly.
Cat snapped.
She grabbed Lindsay's shoulders and spun her around.
"Look, I don't know what your problem is!" She yelled.
Lindsay opened her mouth to start, but Cat cut her off.
"No, I don't actually wanna hear it! Lindsay, I don't know what I ever did to you, but what I do know is, my baby brother has been taken by those monsters, and we have a chance to get him back, but it will only work if you cooperate! So can you please put aside your petty hatred of me for a small while and get yourself marching over to that bloody door right now before I personally go back and feed you to those thorns!"
Lindsay shot her an evil look, but surprisingly she folded her arms and stormed over to the door. Cat followed and silently they walked into the next story. It was a medieval town, decorated with the same bright flags as the stairs. Both girls were now dressed in medieval style dresses, Cats blue and Lindsay's red.
Colour streamed from every nook and cranny. It looked as if it had been set up for some kind of party. Tables lined the streets, packed with delicious cakes and treats.
Stalls selling little toys and trinkets crowded the place. But the town was deserted. No one was in the streets, no signs of life in the houses. No one attended the stalls, or sat at the tables."Well, this isn't creepy at all." Murmured Cat, turning down a side alley. Suddenly, she turned around. Lindsay was gone. Cat began to panic, then calmed herself. It probably wasn't anything bad. More likely, Lindsay was still sulking. Well, that was fine with Cat. She was pretty sure that she would have strangled Lindsay next time she opened her mouth.
Cat turned again and walked into a wall. Except it didn't feel like a wall. Walls didn't breath. Walls weren't warm. Walls didn't have muscled chests or wear clothes or let out a brief laugh when you ran into them.
Cat looked up into a pair burning blue eyes."Uh,oh"
Still accepting answers for the riddle.
