The girl most certainly wasn't anyone they recognized. For a start, she was impossibly skinny, twig like almost. And she was quite short too, giving her a delicate, doll like appearance. Her hair was a mass of caramel curls with pale golden highlights, her eyes a forest green and her face round and petite.
"Who am I? Who are you, more like."
Lindsay swallowed, nervously. "My names Lindsay and this is Harry. We saved you from staying a statue."
The girl smiled cheerily. "Well in that case, my names Valerian and on behalf of my boyfriends kingdom, I thank you. But how did you find us?"
Harry spoke up. "We're playing one of Talithas's games to rescue our friends, and for some reason we came across you instead."
Valerian visibly blanched. "You silly, silly people. You NEVER play games with the shadow men. I should know. How do you think we got into this mess? Heck, I'll probably never see Blaze ever again." At this she looked sad, eyes turned down, like she was trying not to cry.
Lindsay put her arm around the girl. "There, there. You can come with us, and maybe we can get Blaze back."
"Oh, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Cried Valerian, smothering them with hugs.
"Okay," said Harry "Now we just have to locate Cat."

"Julian, Julian, stop." Said Cat, as he attacked her neck and face with kisses. "Julian, we can't do this."
"Yes we can. You cannot tell me that this is wrong."
Cat pushed him away. "Yes, I can. We're not on the same side, We're not friends, and... You kidnapped my brother!"
Julian rolled his eyes. "Again with the brother?! For the last time, technically, that was Talitha. And the rest can be easily solved. Just give up the game."
"Oh, now I see what you're doing." Said Cat, pointing an accusing finger. "You've come to persuade me to concede, under the pretense that you like me. Well, honey, I don't plan to spend the rest of eternity as Talitha's chew toy, so tough luck. And besides, I don't like you that much anyway."
Julian looked hurt. "You think I would let my sister so much as touch you? To tell the truth, your the only reason I'm even involved. I don't care about the others, your friends, your baby brother. I just want you."
Cat shook her head. "I'm sorry, but my priority is my family and my friends. I intend to win this game."
And with that she got up and stalked off towards the tower, leaving Julian collapsed on the floor.
He watched her go, feeling a sharp ache in his heart. Then he felt his resolve harden.
"Fine, you want to play a game? Let's play. Winner takes all."
