"Yes, but how are we supposed to find the house anytime soon, in a wood this size?" Complained Lindsay. " The wolf things good, but we don't have time to begin down every single path, only to discover the wolf isn't preventing us so it can't be the right way."
Cat agreed with her. "Here, hold her." Cat handed her the sleeping Valerian.
Cat turned to the wolf. It growled as she came close, backing into the shadows. Cat gently crouched down, face to face with the beast.
She lunged, grabbing it the scruff of its neck, she dragged it with her, around the fork in the path, past all the different trails. It struggled against her, snapping and snarling"Where's grannies house? Where is it? Is it here?Is it here?"
It growled menacingly, giving her a hateful look.
Lindsay stared open-mouthed. "What the heck are you doing?""Speeding things up a little."
Cat stomped over to another trail. "This one?"
The creature snarled, whined, growled, wriggled and fought, trying to escape Cat. She looked back over her shoulder at Lindsay. "It's this one."They ran into a clearing. Cat had found every path they needed, with the help of her new 'friend' Mr wolf.
The cottage stood between a group of old trees, painting a picturesque image.
The girls started towards it, but heard a noise just behind them. They both spun around, alert.
Out of the trees stumbled a very messed up, filthy Harry. Mud plastered him everywhere. His lederhosen were missing a strap and his hair looked as if a bird had attempted to make a nest in it, then died half-way through.
He glared at the others. "Nice to know you all came to look for me."
Cat giggled. "Oops, sorry Harry."
Harry stormed up to them. "Yeah, well, you should be. Cause your going to get a big hug!"
And he chased the girls around, threatening to hug them with his muddy, dripping arms.
Lindsay squealed. "Can't touch me, can't touch me, I'm carrying a sleeping faery."
"Wai... wha... what's going on?"
Valerian rubbed her sleep gritty eyes.
They all laughed at her bewildered expression.
"Come on then." Said Cat, as Lindsay put Valerian down. "Let's go into grannies house. Oh, and Harry..." She grinned wickedly. "Don't drip mud on grannies floor, there's a good boy."
