Cat glanced at the mirror, then back to Talitha. "What do I have to do?"
Talitha was grinning like it Christmas. "Just walk into the mirror and get him."
Cat shrugged. "Okay."
Luke grabbed her shoulder. "You've done a lot. Let one of us go. Let me go."
Cat pulled his hand off of her. "Luke, it's okay. Unlike you guys, I really don't give a damn what they do anymore. Besides, you guys have all got stuff to live for. Me, I just go where the wind takes me."
And with that, she turned and ran towards the mirror, diving through the glass like it was water.
Inside the mirror was strange. It was a replica of the castle room except everything was in reverse and made of a swirling grey mist.
There were no people in the room, except for her and, standing at the end of the hallway, little Pete.
She ran up to him, snatching him up in her arms. "Petey, oh, god, Petey, are you alright?"
He giggled, tangling his fingers in her hair and nuzzling her shoulder. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's been fun! The pretty lady let me do all sorts of things! I done dress up and art and all sorts!"Cat looked at him, puzzled. "Are you actually saying you had a good time with Talitha?"
He nodded, grinning profusely. "Yeah, she's nice! But I don't like Ju'len. He calls me 'boy' in this meanie way. And he's a tall, giant, scary monster person. Can we go home now?"
Cat ruffled his hair lovingly. "Alright, I suppose so. So tell me, who's more fun, me or Talitha?"
"Uh...."
"You know what? I don't want to know. Let's go, shall we?""Awww, aren't you going to say goodbye, Petey? Cat, I expected better from you."
Yup, this was definitely Cat's worst nightmare. Her, Petey and Talitha alone in a room.
This could not end well.By my judgment, only 2-3 pages left!
