"Eat that?" Asked Cat. "That's all I have to do?"
"Don't do it, Cat!" Yelled Lindsay. "It's obviously poisoned."
"You won't die." Whispered Valerian.
"Don't listen to her, Cat!"Lindsay practically screamed "Obviously it's going to do something to you!"
Cat turned to Lindsay and put her hands on her shoulders, looking into her eyes. "Listen to me, okay? If something does happen to me, I want you to take the riddle, find the others and make sure everyone gets out, okay?"
Cat turned to Moira. "Be there for little Pete in case I'm unable to. He's going to need his sister."
She turned to Harry. "Keep them safe for me, Harry. Keep them alive."
Finally she spoke to Valerian. "You know, you didn't need to use threats. You could have just asked."

Then she took the apple and bit down.
She fell to the ground, seemingly dead.

Lindsay rushed over, feeling around Cat's neck. She held her breath. There it was! A pulse. Faint, but still there. She breathed a sigh of relief. There was still hope.
Valerian was crying, sobbing her eyes out. Moira was in shock, just standing there, staring, as though she couldn't quite believe what she was seeing. Harry was wringing his hands and walking aimlessly in circles, a worried expression on his face.
He rounded on the sobbing Valerian. "What are you crying for? You poisoned her! You don't get to feel sorry or sad about this! Your a traitor!"
"Oh, yeah, and your not?" Countered Valerian.
All eyes fell on Harry.

Cat was extremely comfortable. Her bed was larger than she remembered, the sheets softer and silkier. She rolled over luxuriously, burrowing down further into the warm bed.
It all hit her in a flash. Pete missing. The game. Julian and Talitha. The apple.
She sat up quickly, eyes wide and alert.

This definitely was not her room.
