It was the last class of the day. Spells. You were really excited. You wanted to learn about spells, how to use them and all the different types of spells.
'Welcome class, my name is Professor Filius Flitwick. I will be teaching you everything about spells, charms, jinxes and curses. Let's start with some basic information about spells and charms shall we?'
(A/N: INFORMATION UP A HEAD. DON'T KILL ME PLEASE)
'A spell is a magical action often accompanied by an incantation, not always ofcourse, that makes use of the magical force of the wizarding world in order to accomplish extraordinary feats that ordinary people, also called Muggles, cannot perform, for example levitating objects, conjuring fire, or stunning a person. Spells often have some kind of physical representation in the form of light and as such can usually miss, be dodged, or blocked with an object including another spell. The action of performing a spell is referred to as casting or spellwork.'
Again the writing. But it was worth it!
'Normally, spells require three main factors to be properly accounted for in order to succeed: wand movement, incantation and intent. If one does not move their wand in the correct way, does not speak the incantation properly and/or cannot retain their desired outcome in their imagination during casting then the spell will fail or backfire.'
'I know all of this already.' Hermione sighed.
'That cool, I don't... I think it's really interesting.'
'It should be noted that spells can be performed with or without speech and wands, though non-verbal and wandless spells are much more difficult and hence are usually not taught to practitioners until they reach a more advanced level, such as the sixth year of study at Hogwarts. Notable practitioners of non-verbal spells include Albus Dumbledore, Him-How-Must-Not-Be-Named, and Severus Snape, who have also been known to perform wandless spells.'
'Hermione, who is Him-How-Must-Not-Be -Named?' You whispered.
'He is also called the Dark Lord. He is a half-blood wizard who is considered to be the most powerful and dangerous Dark wizard of all time.'
'Most incantations derive from the Latin language, such as Accio but there are also some English incantations, such as Obliviate or Stupefy.'
The pain in my hand!! Aargh school life struggles!!
'A simplified analogy for the differentiation between Transfiguration and Charms is the difference between form and function or matter and energy; one is concerned with what the object is, so Transfigurations, whilst the other is concerned with what the object is doing so a Charm.'
(A/N: DONE :) )
You wrote down everthing and looked at your notes. It was readable. So good enough.
'al right, a lot of information. Any questions..? Non? Shall we just start with some charms? Does anyone know one?'
Ron signed at you. You raised your hand with a shy smile while Hermione raised her hand up high.
'Of course you know one miss Y/L! Come on up. Show us.'
You walked to the front of the class with your wand. You cleared coughed and pointed your wand at a paper.
'Wingardium Leviosa!'
You lifted the paper up. Neville looked at it with an open mouth.
'Very good! That was a charm I wanted to learn you first!'
