67 ~ another fight

You waited in the common room. Draco still wasn't there... did he miss the carriages. He already missed the sorting session. You looked at the door. 

'Don't worry to much Y/N.' Amneris said.

'Yeah he can't be dead. That's the positive side.' Willow said.

'And if he's dead, I'll eat his food.' Jacinda said.

You sighed and looked back at the door. It opened and Draco walked in. He was dressed in his robes and he walked over to the table. He sat down besides you and kissed your cheek.

'Hello Draco. Little late aren't we?' Willow asked him.

'Oh shut up.' He sneered while grabbing some food. 'What did I miss?' He asked you.

'The sorting session.. What were you-'

'Very best of evenings to you all.' Dumbledore interrupted you.

You sighed and turned your head to Dumbledore. One or the speeches that don't mean anything at the end of the year because all rules are broken anyways, mostly by Harry.

'First off let me introduce the newest member of our staff. Horace Slughorn.'

A older teacher got up and waved for a moment. Everyone clapped. It wasn't really a surprise that there was a new teacher.

'Professor Slughorn, I'm happy to say, has agreed to resume his own post as potions Master.'

Potions teacher.. did that mean that..

'Meanwhile the position of Defence Against The Dark Arts will be taken by professor Snape.'

Snape? He was getting the post he always wanted.. yet he didn't seem happy. He never did so..

You looked at Draco. He was staring at the table, his head leaning on his hand. You were really worried about him. He was depressed.. again. This wasn't Draco. You really had to talk to him.

'As you know, each and everyone of you was searched upon your arrival tonight... and you have the right to know why. Once there was a young man, like you...'

You didn't know where Dumbledore was going with this.

'Sat in this very hall... walked these corridors, stepped under this roof... He seemed to whole the world a student like any other. His name? Tom riddle.'

You looked back at him. Tom riddle? He was going to talk about Tom Riddle right now?

'Today of course, he's known all over the world with another name... This is why I stand looking out upon all of you tonight, I'm reminded of a sobering fact. Every day, every hour, this very minute perhaps... dark forces attempt to penetrate this castles walls. But in the end their greatest wapon is you. Just something to think about... now of to bed.' He finished.

Your friends got up and so did you. Draco was still dreaming. You laid your hand on his shoulder. He looked up. You offered him your hand but he just got up and walked out. You followed him immediately. He couldn't go to bed without talking to you.

You caught up with him in the common room. You grabbed his wrist. Draco turned around and looked at you.

'I need to talk to you.'

'Again?' He asked you.

'Yes.. just wait a second okay..'

Draco sighed and sat down on a couch. Slowly everyone went to bed. Until you and Draco were left.

'Tell me.'

Draco looked at you in confusion.
