30 ~ please don't let them die...

You sat in the train that headed home. Snow covered the landscapes. Hermione was reading one of her favourite books and you were just sitting there staring out of the window.

'Hermione, I came across Draco the other day...'

'O no.' She sighed while closing her book. 'Tell me, what happened?'

'I had that nightmare from a few nights ago and I couldn't sleep. So I decided to go for a little walk, maybe go to the lake... and then I found Draco wondering around the corridors. I had no clue why and I didn't ask him. But when I asked him whether or not he still liked me and whether or not he was over me, he looked at me as if he wanted to say something but he changed his mind, turned around and walked away.'

'You literally asked him?'

'I wanted to know! So I asked him...'

'You have to stop thinking about him! It's a waste of time and energy.'

You sighed.

'I know... but I can't.'

'Yes you can... why don't you think about dating someone else.' Hermione offered.

You looked at her in confusion.

'Dating someone else? Like who?' You asked.

She shrugged.

'Ron is mine... so not him. You could date Cedric.'

'Cedric has something with Cho.' You spoke.

'What about... Harry?' She asked after a small silence.

'Harry?!' You asked.

Hermione nodded. Harry? Was she serious?

'Yes, he's single. You guys can get along well. Why don't you get something to drink with him?'

'Me and Harry? It would make things between me and Draco even worse... besides, I'm still in love with Draco...'

'Just try at least.'

You looked at her and sighed. 

'Why do you want me to date Harry so badly?' You asked.

'I just think you would be a nice couple.'

You raised your brows.

'Again... me and Harry?'

'Yes. Maybe it's good for you to date something... different.'

'Different? And with that you mean...?'

'Nothing... less... less harmful.'

'Harmful?! Draco never did anything to me! He only broke up with me.' You defended him.

'And he almost killed you!'

'That's not true... He had no choice. Besides I never told you what happened, so how do you know?'

She sighed.

'If you never explain I will never change my opinion.'

You sighed again. You couldn't explain her the story. If you would tell her, then you had to say that he's a death eater. You hated him right now but you weren't that cruel.

'Never mind then...' you sighed.

'Why can't you explain it? Is it really that bad?' She asked.

'It is... I promised him not to tell anyone.'

'And he promised to keep you safe... He broke that promise Y/N. So you can break a promise to.' She sighed.

She had a fair point... not that Draco really had a choice.
