Chapter 58: "Alone"
Third Person POV

- - -

There had always been a strong bond between Jolene and Dallas and Kimberly that was waiting to blossom, ever since the moment the couple first met her. This bond would strengthen greatly from 1993 to 1996, becoming what we know it as in current times. Before we go to a specific day in June of 1993, we'll take a quick look back at the events that led to Jolene Milford joining World Championship Wrestling.

Before she was a Diamond Doll, and after she had escaped from her abusive ex-husband, Thomas, Jolene worked at a large bar in her city of Norfolk as a waitress. It was a job that Jolene enjoyed quite a bit, as she excelled at flirting her way into tips from the customers. Of course, the money that Jolene received from that job would be nothing compared to the cash she would rake in while with the New World Order; but, Jolene's never been in her business for the money.

Besides, she could easily get as much booze as she wanted at any given time. It was perfect.

One night back in September of 1991, Jolene had been continuing on in her job as usual when an attractive couple came waltzing into the bar. Their faces were completely new to Jolene, who had been working at the bar for several months. It always intrigued Jolene when new people came in, so right from the get-go, they had her attention.

The two took a seat not far from where Jolene had been working, so with a grin on her lips, Jolene approached them. From the moment she started a conversation with the couple, she knew that they were something special.

Soon into their talk, Jolene discovered that the male's name was Page and his wife was Kimberly, with their surname being Falkinburg. Page worked in the wrestling business as a manager and the leader of his own groups, such as The Diamond Exchange and The Diamond Mine. Jolene learned that the man, whose ring name was Diamond Dallas Page, had worked with a lot of big name talent in the industry, such as the Fabulous Freebirds.

Kimberly soon chimed into the conversation, telling Jolene about how Dallas and his groups had other members as well. Jolene had been extremely interested at that point, and knew that she would be talking to the two of them for a long time.

So, naturally, after Jolene had grabbed a couple of drinks for Kimberly and Dallas, she took her break. The dark-haired waitress had pulled a chair up to their table and asked Kimberly to elaborate.

It was then that Jolene learned about the Diamond Dolls and their role. Kimberly and Dallas both explained how DDP and his pals would bring out several woman to the ring with them each night, using them to work the crowd and distract their opponents. As soon as Jolene had heard that they were looking for more permanent Dolls, she asked if she could be one.

Dallas was certainly interested, as he had thought that Jolene was quite the cool cat. He truthfully swore that he would do everything he could to get her hired.

Until the bar closed that night, Jolene talked with Dallas and Kimberly. The friendship that had been started in the bar would lead Jolene to great things all around.

Of course, a lot of work had to go into getting Jolene in WCW. She had to travel, formally audition, get signed, and quit her job as a waitress to make it as a Doll, but all of it was worth it in the end.

Jolene will always cite that night as the most important one in her life. After all, without it, her life would be nothing like it is now.

We'll now return to the aforementioned day in June 1993, to the time that Jolene, Dallas, and Kimberly sat in the local gym together. Dallas was taking a breather and sitting with his wife and sister figure at a table in the break room.
