A Sudden DATE (Judal x Reader)

The gap between us

The stars were pretty that night, but big clouds didn't let their light shine.

Gazing at the stars, organising your thoughts and bidding farewell to everyone inside your head.

Your train of thought was interrupted by non other than Judal.

"What's up with you today? Are you on your period or something?"

You turned around to look at him shocked.

Was your perfect act breaking apart!?

"Wh-what are you saying, Judal-kun? I am the same as always!"

"Is that so?"

"Yeah!"

"Then maybe it was just my imagination.... But if something is troubling you, you should tell someone... Even if that someone isn't me..."

"Judal-kun, maybe you are the one on your period?"

"I HAVE GOT ENOUGH GETTING TREATED AS A BRAT! I DON'T WANNA GET TREATED AS A WOMAN NOW!!"

"Oh? Do you have a problem with women?????"

"Eh...uuh....no...not at all! Nothing! Nothing at all!"

"Also, you are over thinking it."

With your hand you squeezed hard the balcony railing.

"Hey, (name), I will stop adding '-chan' to your name. So you stop adding '-kun' to my name too."

"Where did that come from all of a sudden?"

"I realised, maybe you still regard me as a stranger..."

"Hah?"

"You know, addressing someone with '-kun' shows that you are still not close enough with him... Even if I just used '-chan' to annoy you a bit, you never got annoyed. So I will stop. And you should stop too."

"I see... So you feel a gap between us, huh...?"

How true that was... Maybe you unconsciously kept the -kun there. You unconsciously didn't dare to close that gap.

"Well yeah... so if possible, call me just Judal from now on, got it?"

He looked aloof, gazing into the non-existent stars as well...

It had gotten really cloudy, stars almost invisible.

"Judal..., should destiny separate us, would you still love me?"

"Hah? What a stupid question is that?"

"Haha, I know right... It's stupid..."

You felt hurt inside. You weren't blaming Judal but you really wanted, needed, the answer to that.

"Hey, are you crying?"

Yes, you were, unconsciously of course...

Your eyes widened in shock as you looked at Judal in confusion.

Why were you crying....?
