Emma's POV.
After an amazing stress relieving shower, I'm just about ready to fall asleep. The night has been long but I wouldn't say it was a bad one. Besides what happened with Josh, I actually had fun. As I approach my room, I hear a voice that doesn't sound like Mickeys. I quickly pull the door open. Eli is saying goodbye to someone... on my phone.
"Eli! What are you doing on my phone?" I ask pulling it out of his hands.
"Your phone was ringing and you were in the shower so I just picked it up." he shrugs as if it's not an invasion of my privacy.
"Or you could have just not picked it up that's really rude.. wait who called?"
"Josh." he answers.
"Josh? Oh what did he want?" why would Josh call me this late?
"Oh you know man stuff." he smirks.
"Come on if he wanted to talk to me it wouldn't be about 'man stuff.' " I laugh.
"I guess you'll never know."
"Eli tell me!" I beg.
"Naw I'm good." a smile is still on his face when he leaves the room.
"Oh where's Mickey anyways." he pokes his head back in.
"You know where she always is, at a club." I joke.
His face immediately pales and he clenches his fist.
"What why how did she get there but..."
"Eli I'm joking calm down. She's taking a shower now."
"That wasn't funny." he huffs and finally leaves.
I grab my phone and I go through the history, and sure enough Josh's name is at the top of the list. Maybe I should call him and see what he wants? Deciding at the last minute not to, I grab my stuffed animal and lay down. Yes I still have a stuffed animal. It's not a childhood one, Evan won it for me two years ago? Yeah two years ago. I don't know why I still have it but I love it.
But I still can't shake the fact that Josh and Eli were talking to each other. Oh gosh I hope Eli didn't say something to embarrass me. If I know him, he defiantly did. What did they talk about? Were they talking about me? With all of these thoughts running through my mind, I finally fall asleep.
Josh's POV.
The smell of coffee wakes me up in the morning. It's probably my mom who's making it, she always starts off the week with coffee. I sure could use some right now. My mind keeps racing with ideas on how to apologize to Emma. Apologizing should be easy right? But I can't afford to make another mistake. She makes me so nervous that I can't even think straight.
When I make my way to the kitchen my assumptions were right. Mom is sitting at the island waiting for the coffee to be done.
"Josh what are you doing up so early?"
"What time is it?" I ask.
"Darling it's only 6am!"
"Oh. Well can I have some coffee then?" I smile.
"Coffee isn't good for young people." she says sternly.
"Mom it's not like I'm going to get any taller than this."
We both laugh and she finally gives in. After I add sugar and milk to my coffee, I sit by my mom on the island. Somehow this reminds me of the time I took Emma to Starbucks. Sure it's not nearly as good since she's not here but I'm glad for the memory.
