/ First person Protagonist POV /
"I- what?" I babbled out. I must have slept really bad, because there was no way I had heard correctly: Kylo Ren wanted me to become... his apprentice?!
" You heard justly." Kylo said. " We have decided that I should teach you the way of the force."
We? Who the hell is 'we'?! I yelled in my mind. " There are questions best left unanswered, for now." He mentioned, having read my thoughts again. " Listen, y/n," Kylo said in a soothing voice, stepping closer to me, we were only a few feet apart. " You are force sensitive. It is best that I train you, before you would have landed in the... wrong hands."
I remained quiet. It was a lot to think about, but I knew that Kylo Ren would never give me the time I needed to review the situation and think of a coherent answer. " y/n, I felt it. Everyone who is force sensitive must have as well. There is something that is altering the force. It is you." Kylo started saying, as he stepped closer, ending the space between us. " It pains me to be near. There is something in the force revolving around you, it is powerful, and it pains." This time, his hand was on my cheek.
When I heard him say that being around me, physically hurt him, there was a knot that formed in my throat. Part of me wished whatever caused that would go away, so he wouldn't feel the pain, and another part only thought about the fact that he was there, standing inches away from me even though he had said it agonized him.
" Do not let your power go to waste, y/n. You could reach your full potential with me. Let me teach you the way of the force. " Kylo said, extending his hand out for me to grab it. I remained still. I wanted to grab his hand instantly, but a little voice in my head told me I shouldn't do it, and it was persistent. But, did I really have a choice?
Kylo's hand remained extended for what seemed like minutes. I looked at his face, he was impossible to read, but his eyes gave him away. In them, I could see the pain, and I wasn't sure it was the one I was causing him or if it was something deeper than that. I could also distinguish a bit of loneliness. His eyes felt solitary.
As if by instinct, I placed my hand in his, and closed my fingers around his. He did the same. We remained quiet and immobile, I was staring into his dark brown eyes while he stared into my e/c ones. We didn't have to talk, not in that moment. Only me holding his gloved hand and our palms together was enough to say a thousand silent words.
In that moment, I had decided to be his apprentice. I had chosen to let Kylo Ren train me. And my gut feeling was not there anymore. The little voice in my head had stopped giving me a headache; every sound, everything around me and Kylo seamed to vanish, to have never existed.
Kylo's hand slowly separated from mine, but our eyes never broke eye contact. We didn't speak; we didn't need to. Both me and Kylo seamed to know what each of us was thinking, silently saying. He didn't even have to use the force to read into my thoughts, because either way, there wasn't any. Shivers ran down my spine and electricity down my veins, the odd feeling had returned.
Unexpectedly, Kylo broke off the eye contact and cleared his throat. I took a couple steps back and looked at my shoes, unable to speak.
"Training." Kylo said, out of the blues, which startled me a little bit. " Training, tomorrow at seven in the morning sharp. Not earlier, not later. I will instruct your door guard to guide you to the training lounge." He said, coughing in between a couple words.
I nodded swiftly. " Will I always have a... door guard?" I added. Kylo shook his head. " No. But until you find your way around the Finalizer, OC- 7234 will be awaiting you every day for guidance." He said. Well then, it appears I will always have the stormtrooper with me. Because I will never not get lost in this ginormous space ship, I joked to myself. Kylo also let down a deep chuckle, and I furrowed my eyebrows.
" Stop reading my thoughts." I said.
" Stop making them so easily accesible." He replied sarcastically, but his tone and expression was serious.
" I don't know how." I frowned.
" I will teach you." Kylo said. " Maybe someday."
I stood in silence and looked around the private quarter main hallway. It was big and spacious, and definitely nicer than the rest of the star destroyer, but I kept the comments to myself. I turned around, the doors to the private quarter had opened, and a stormtrooper walked in. Except she didn't look like the other troopers : Her armor was sliver and shiny, and a black cape fell on her shoulder.
"Captain Phasma." Kylo said, in a robotic tone. He had put on his mask, very fast. " This is my new apprentice."
The trooper turned her head and looked at me, I decided to stare at her helmet, too. She nodded and turned back to Kylo. " Sir, there are things I need to inform you about." She said, a little static could be heard in her voice distortioner. " y/n," Kylo said, as you turned to look at him. " Head back to your living quarters, and tomorrow. Remember: seven sharp." He mentioned, walking away with Captain Phasma.
I exited the private quarters, and I found that OC- 7234, was waiting. " Lets go." I said. " I've got something important to do tomorrow."
