/ First Person Protagonist POV /
" So that's the Death Star." I inhaled the ocean breeze as I squinted my eyes to try to get a better look at the huge ruins of it, lying carelessly in the middle of the large body of violent waves. " And... the Sith way finder is in there somewhere?"
Rey nodded, taking out an odd looking dagger. I walked back towards Chewie and Poe, who were working on the Millennium Falcon when I noticed a group of people heading their way. I ran towards the ship, with the my hand wrapped tightly around the Darksaber's hilt just in case.
The group of people were already talking to Poe and Chewie, and they didn't seem like a threat, which was reassuring, but of course, I kept my guard up. When I arrived next to Poe, I crossed my arms and stared at the unknown group with doubt.
" Who are you?" I questioned, cocking my eyebrow.
" Calm down, y/n. They're allies." Finn said, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. " An associate of ours on Kijimi told Jannah and her tribe we were coming."
" Yes. He said the last hope was coming to Kef Bir. We've been awaiting your arrival." The young woman I assumed was Jannah added, nodding her head.
I skimmed the tribe, looking at familiar armory parts in their outfits, and I instantly knew they had been stormtroopers. Over my time with the First Order, I had heard about a certain company 77, and how they had refused to shoot civilians and had fled, never to be found.
I could safely assume Jannah and the others were company 77, they had the right amount of numbers for it. Though I decided not to mention anything. It wasn't my story to tell, and based on my knowledge of Finn, I doubted they wanted to be remembered of their past as troopers as well.
" When we were informed that the resistance, - the last hope, was arriving, we gathered any supplies you might need, and we're here to help." She nodded confidently, staring at the falcon. " Based on how you landed, I can assume your ship won't be able to fly, will it?"
" I'm afraid not." Poe sighed in defeat as Chewie growled saddened.
" We have extra spaceship parts that could help fix it. We'll help you get your ship going again, we're pretty good at that." Jannah reassured.
Poe's eyes seemed to brighten as his and Chewie's whole mood became more jolly and excited. I chuckled. Company 77 left to their camp to bring in materials, while Jannah stayed with us, talking with Finn, probably because he had noticed the same thing as I, that Jannah and her tribe were former stormtroopers.
I joined Rey at the edge of the cliff, she was still holding out the weird dagger. " Rey." I caught her attention, which made her lower the weapon. " We'll be able to fly out of Kef Bir with the Sith way finder. We have allies here." I informed, to which she smiled.
" That's great. Now we have to get there." She pointed at the remains of the Death Star, which were pretty far off in the sea.
" Doesn't seem too hard. I overheard Jannah's tribe has sea skiffs they use to take useful parts from it." I shrugged. " We'll get there soon."
" That may take some time." Came the voice of Jannah from behind us. " I understand you might need to get there as fast as possible, but the tide is very high, and the currents dangerous. We'll have to wait for it to calm down, we can take you there tomorrow."
" Tomorrow? We don't have that time!" Rey complained.
" I'm sorry, but we can't risk ourselves and our transportations like this." She sighed, walking back to the Falcon to help Poe, Chewie, and Finn fix it.
I could sense the frustration coming from Rey, and from myself as well. We needed the Sith way finder to continue with the mission, I needed it to bring Ben back before the allegiance of the First Order to the Final Order was complete, there was no time to waste. But thinking logically, Jannah's right. I sighed. It would be foolish and too risky to set sail right now. We would only be slowed down by the massive waves.
Rey massaged her temples and went back to observing the remains of DS-2 Death Star. It had been years since the galactic empire had been defeated, and yet, I could still feel the evil radiating from the ruins of the super weapon.
" I'll leave you to whatever you were doing." I told her.
" Where are you going?" She asked. I shrugged. " I don't know? To help with the Falcon, meditate, jump off the cliff. There's so much to be done to kill time." I huffed and walked towards the company 77 and the others.
" So what seems to be the problem? Why'd we crash?" I placed both hands on my hips as I arrived near the falcon.
" We landed ungracefully because the landing gears are completely destroyed." Poe wiped sweat from his forehead, still not wanting to admit we had crashed. " Other than that, the hyperdrive is intact, thankfully, but the ship's still down. With some tinkering, I think we can get it going."
" How much tinkering? Like... done by tomorrow type of tinkering?" I insisted.
" Sure, if we work together, we can get it done in a couple hours even. Why are you so persistent in leaving, though?" He asked.
" Aren't you? There's a large threat we need to stop in a Sith world. The sooner, the better. Who knows if they still need time to complete their fleet, we can't let them leave Exegol." I cleared my throat. That was half the truth. I still wasn't sure whether it was a good idea to tell my resistance companions about me and Kylo, but of course, eventually I would.
" Right. We better get to work then. Are you going to help?" Finn interfered.
I shook my head. " I'm afraid I won't be of much help even if tried. I think I'm going to meditate."
" Since when do you meditate, all mighty Jedi?" He joked.
I rolled my eyes. " Very funny, Finny." I waved them off, heading towards a large rock at the edge of the cliff, where I knew would be a nice, quiet place to relax, not to mention the ocean breeze would be delightful.
I crawled on the boulder and sat with my legs crossed, staring directly at the remains of the Death Star. No way I'm looking at that when trying to calm down, I shook my head and decided to concentrate on the waves instead.
That's when I spotted a dark yellow figure battling against the raging waves. I squinted my eyes to get a better view of what it was: one of company 77's sea skiffs.
Rey. I gasped, jumping off the rock and running towards the falcon. Jannah, Poe, and Finn had also noticed Rey was out at sea, as they stood on the edge of the cliff, calling out to her.
" What the hell is she doing out there?!" I shrieked.
" Rey's impatient, but I didn't know it would go this far." Finn face palmed.
I looked around desperately. I couldn't let her go alone, I wouldn't let her. This mission meant a lot to me, and Rey couldn't just go on her own like it was something personal to her only. " Jannah." I called out to the former stormtrooper.
" Get me a sea skiff, I'm going after her."
