Tyler Lockwood//Messed Up

"Are you excited for Miss Mystic Falls?" Elena asked.

"Yeah. I don't have anyone to go with yet, I might go by myself, I don't know. Who needs a man?"

"Why don't you ask Ty-"

"Don't finish that sentence." I warned.

"It's been like a year."

"I know." I played with the straw in my drink.

"I'm pretty sure he's over it." She chuckled.

"Yeah. Hey, I have to go to work, I'll talk to you later." I gave her a small smile and headed to the Grill.

Matt was behind the bar serving alcohol, so I was waitressing. I think it's amazing how this place only has three workers and is doing so well.

A few hours into my shift, Tyler walked in by himself and went over to Matt. I used my vampire hearing to eavesdrop.

"Hey bro." Tyler spoke first.

"Hey."

"Are you going to Miss Mystic?"

"Yeah, I don't have a date though."

"Cool, you're coming with me."

Tyler hates miss mystic falls, why does he want to go? I had to drag him there last year.

I glanced over at him, and when he turned his head to look at me, I didn't turn away. It felt like the first time I ever saw him. I got such an overwhelming feeling of anxiety and sadness that I quickly took my first break of the day.

I headed to the back and took a few deep breaths to calm myself down.

I was such an idiot.

Matt walked in. "Hey are you okay?"

"I messed up Matt."

"What happened? Did you attack somebody?"

"No." I looked up at him with evident tears in my eyes.

"I messed up with Ty! He was the best thing that happened to me. He helped me transition to a vampire, and I totally fucked it up."

"You still have feelings for Tyler?"

"This would be so much easier if you were a girl and you just understood." I sighed. "Yes. I miss Tyler. I love Tyler. I know it's been a year but I can't stop thinking about him lately and I feel so bad about what happened!"

Matt hugged me and we both went back to our job. I couldn't help myself but to see if Tyler was still here. We made eye contact again, but I looked away this time. Why am I suddenly feeling this way again? I've done so well at pushing it down and trying to forget about it.

I hope Matt doesn't tell him, and he doesn't come over here to talk to me. Soon after, Tyler had left and our work day went on as usual.
