I walked into the sub station looking for my best friend Max. I saw his mom and Justin in front of a fan.

"Hey Justin, Hey Teresa. Where's Maxi?" I smiled and leaned against the semi cold countertop.

"He's upstairs in his room." His mom panted from the heat.

"Thanks." I stared walking upstairs, but max was. Coming down them.

"Oh hey y/n! Mom, look at my ostrich nest!" He smiled happily. What a goofball.

"Max, throw that thing away. It's disgusting."

Well she's not wrong.

"This is where I do my homework." I made a face of disgust and walked over to him.

"Maxi, ready for our beach date."

It's not really a date, I wish it was.

"Awe you guys are going on a date. I always knew you two would-"

"Mom. It's not a date."

He grabbed my hand and lead me outside.

He made sure nobody was around and he did a spell to make a small beach and two chairs appear.

"I'm so glad magic is a thing." I smiled and walked passed him. "I wish we could go to the real beach."

"Yeah me too." He smiled back at me.

After finally combing Jerry, we got to go to the beach.

He told us not to mess with the fortune machine because for wizards, or fortunes are very real.

But of course Max had to try it.

"Max stop, what if you get something bad?"

"I won't. I promise. Look." He put in a quarter and got his fortune.

"You will receive a sweet surprise."

Justin came over and we all got free ice cream called Sweet Surprise.

"Justin, your turn." Max convinced Justin to get a fortune too.

"You will attract the attention of a stranger." A pretty girl waved to him flirtatiously.

"Come on y/n, it's your turn." Max said with a smile.

"Max," I laughed. "What are the odds of getting three good fortunes in a row?"

"100%, now go" he chuckled, which made me smile more. He's so cute.

"Fine!" I put in a quarter and got my card.

"True love will present itself to you." I read aloud.

"What?" Max snatched the card out of my hand.

"I guess I did get a good one huh." I smiled and took it back.

"Heads up!" Someone yelled from the beach.

I saw a football coming towards me, but then a guy caught it.

"Wow. Thank you. What's your name?" I asked.

"Ryan." He smiled. "It's my job to protect cute girl's from flying footballs."

"Well you should get a raise." God that was stupid!

Max got in between us.

"Well thank you, Ruan but I'm sure you should be moving on somewhere. Shouldn't you?" Max put his arm around me.
