Working in the BAU has always been my career. I wouldn't want to live any other way.

I walk in, early in the morning, like always. I make a cup of coffee.

"Did you know there are 95 mg of caffeine in one cup of 8 oz. coffee?" My favorite coworker asks.

"No I did not." I smiled.

He seemed to notice my smile and he himself copied the action.

"How did you sleep last night?" He asked.

"Horrible. Otherwise I wouldn't need the coffee." I took a sip and we walked to our desks, which were right across from each other.

"Hey Spence, do you have the case file for the Delores case?" I asked him as I rolled to his desk.

"Um, no I don't." He covered his phone speaker, I noticed he was on a call.

I nodded and rolled back to my desk, and then got up to go to Hotch's office.

I knocked on his door and he told me to come in.

"Hey Hotch, do you know where the Delores case file is? I can't seem to find it?"

"No. But sit down, there's something I need to tell you."

I sat down in the chair in front of his desk.

"I just got a call from agent Coleman." He started.

"Another case? We barely finished the last one." I sighed.

"No, not a case... agent y/l/n, there was a robbery at a bank downtown... you're parents died. I'm so sorry for your loss."

It seemed like my entire world was crashing down at once.

I stood up and walked out of his office.

The room was spinning.

I saw Reid stand up and walk over to me, but I passed out.

I woke up in the briefing room. Spencer was at the table looking over some more paperwork.

"Spence," my eyes got watery.

"You're awake-"

JJ came in the room quickly.

"Is she okay? I heard that she passed out-" she looked at me.

"Jenny," I stood up, I walked over to my best friend since middle school.

"They're gone." I hugged her tightly.

"Who? Who's gone?" She asked.

"My parents." I cried into her shoulder.

I heard some movement, probably spencer. He had left the room to give us privacy.

I pulled back from her.

"I'm sorry y/n." She apologized.

"I'll be okay JJ, I promise. I just need some time. I need to distract myself.

For weeks I distracted myself from my parents death using work, and cases. I focused on work and only work.

Well there was the occasional Moments with Spencer. Like last night for example, after we got back from a case, we went to his place and talked about authors and books. We both loved to read.

I had a crush on him before, but now, things have multiplied.

"Hey Spence." I smiled at him happily.

"Hey y/n, sleep well?"

"Like a baby. I had fun last night. We should hang out outside of work more often." I suggested.
