Draco Malfoy had always been an interesting person to me. While others saw him as evil and mean, I saw him as misunderstood and abused. Every day I ask Draco how he's doing and everyday it's the same response "a lot better than your outfit/hair/etc." it didn't bother me. Much like Luna, I didn't care what people thought about me.
I walked to potions with Harry and Ron like usual. Hermione is always there when we get there. She comes to class like seven minutes early every day.
I sat next to Neville with a smile and class begun. Halfway through, I looked over at draco who was a few seats to my right and back a row.
He looked bored out of his mind while twirling his wand in his hand. I wish I could spin my wand like that. It looks so cool.
He caught me staring and we made eye contact. He politely looked away without doing anything that would be considered rude.
When class was over, I walked up to him in the hall.
"Hey Draco, that thing you were doing with your wand looked cool. How do you do that?"
He looked me up and down with a look of slight disgust. " I don't know. It's not hard."
"Okay... well how was your day?" I smiled.
He opened his mouth but hesitated.
"I don't want to talk about this with you." He turned to walk away.
I don't give up easily. I ran to catch up with him and he was walking really fast.
"Draco what happened? Are you okay?" I asked while speed walking.
"I'm fine y/n."
I pulled him into an empty classroom, he stood leaning against a desk while I stood a couple feet in front of him.
"I won't tell anybody anything. I promise."
"You don't have to keep up this good girl act with me okay? There's no way you're always happy and nothing ever goes wrong for you."
"No I'm not always happy. Ask any of the (your Hogwarts house) girls. I have my moments and sometimes I cry myself to sleep. But I don't choose to make other peoples day shit because of it. So tell me what's wrong." I took a step forward.
He waited a moment. "My dad made me do something I didn't want to do and now I'm stuck." His eyes watered.
I didn't actually expect him to tell me, let alone cry.
"Stuck how?"
"There's no going back. It's until I die."
He started to roll up his sleeve and I saw the tattoo.
"Oh Draco." I lightly held his forearm while my fingers lightly traced over the death eater symbol.
I looked up from his arm and we made eye contact. We were close and if anyone were to walk in right now they would think we were about to kiss.
"If you tell anyone about this-"
I cut him off by giving him a hug. "I promised you I wouldn't say anything didn't I?" I pulled back and we went our separate ways until the next day in the library. We didn't have too many classes today so it was mostly just a fun day.
I was sitting on the floor in the divination section.
Someone sat next to me and I immediately recognized the blonde hair.
"Draco." I smiled. "How's your day been?"
"It's been okay. Thank you for yesterday."
"You're welcome." I smiled widely. Draco never talks to me, and he especially doesn't start the conversation.
"Why are you smiling?"
"Your talking to me."
"Yeah so?"
"Nothing. Just you never talk to me. Are we friends now?"
"Hardly. I thought I'd pay you back for yesterday so I'm gonna teach you how to twirl your wand." He pulled his out.
I got excited and grabbed my wand.
He showed me how to position my hand first.
The second his cold hands touched mine, butterflies erupted in my stomach.
"You have to spread your fingers out wide enough to where your wand will fit. It's about the same width as if you were holding hands with somebody." He explained.
He held my hand and then straightened my fingers out and removed his hand.
He placed my wand in the starting position between my index and middle finger.
He grabbed his wand. "Okay love, I'll do it slow so you can see. But you pretty much just move your fingers back and forth and flick your wrist." He demonstrated and I started doing it.
I smiled, turning my head to look at Draco.
"Ahh! I'm actually doing it this is so coo-"
I got cut off by Draco putting his lips on mine.
Oh my god. I dropped my wand and put my hands on his jawline before kissing him back.
"Draco? Who are you- oh my god!" One of his friends ran off after seeing us.
"Y/n, darling. We'll continue this later but right now I have to chase Goyle and make sure he doesn't tell the whole school." He stood up but I held his hand.
"W-why?"
"Do you really want people knowing you're dating me? The son of a death eater. They probably all think I'm going to become one. Even if I already have."
"I do. I'm not ashamed or disappointed in you Malfoy. I really like you and I'm not leaving or giving up on you."
His eyes started watering once again and Luna came down the isle.
"Y/n, Draco. Nice to see you." She greeted sweetly.
"You too Luna," I smiled back. "Would you actually do me a favor?"
"Sure. What is it?"
I whispered in her ear.
"I think I can do that."
"Thank you." I nodded.
Luna walked away and Draco held my hand.
"What did you tell her?" He asked curiously.
"We both know my good friend Ron Weasley can't keep a secret."
"Obviously."
"I told Luna to tell him we're together."
"Why?"
"So everybody, and especially Pansy Parkinson, knows we're together. And if I see her so much as looking at you from a distance I will not hesitate to curse her ass." I threatened with a smile.
His lips parted in surprise at how I was acting.
"What? You said yesterday that I didn't have to keep up the good girl act with you."
"In more ways than one hopefully because that was attractive." He kissed me.
"You'll see eventually." I smiled.
